🎽🌈 Student Council Spirit Day! 🌈🎽
To get excited for next week’s Athletics Carnival, Student Council is inviting everyone to wear their house colours for our Spirit Day!
Show your house pride, cheer on your teammates, and help create a fun and positive atmosphere across the school.
Staff have been assigned a house to support for the year… except for Ms Kelly, who will be proudly supporting all houses and all teams! 😊
Let’s see a sea of colour across the school and build excitement for an amazing Athletics Carnival!

🦘📚 Ms Kelly absolutely bounced into National Simultaneous Storytime today!
Dressed head-to-toe as a kangaroo, she didn’t just read the story… she hopped through it! Safe to say the students were all ears — especially the joeys in the front row.

🌟 Becoming a Playground Pro! 🌟
Whole school behaviour focus weeks 5 & 6
At Ironside, our students are learning how to be problem solvers, kind friends and confident communicators through our ✋ Hi 5 Problem Solving Strategy.
When challenges pop up in the playground, our students are encouraged to:😊 Ignore👂 Talk friendly 👣 Walk away 🗣️ Talk firmly💡Report
It has been wonderful seeing so many students stepping up as true “Playground Pros” by showing teamwork, resilience and kindness during play.
We are proud of the way our students are building positive relationships and using their voices to solve problems safely and respectfully every day! 🌈✨

Tomorrow, Wednesday 27 May at 12:00pm, our students will join children right across Australia for National Simultaneous Storytime 2026!
This year’s featured book is Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Ballerina, a delightful story that celebrates imagination, courage and the joy of reading.
National Simultaneous Storytime is a wonderful opportunity to promote the value of reading and literacy while sharing in a special nationwide event together.
We can’t wait to enjoy this magical story with our students tomorrow! ⚽️ 🦘 📖

Today our Prep students headed off to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary as part of their English informative text learning! 🐨
Despite the chilly weather, our little learners were absolutely amazing — engaged, excited and full of curiosity all day long. It was wonderful to see them making real-world connections to their classroom learning while exploring and discovering Australia’s unique animals.
A huge thank you to Miss McMillan for organising such a fantastic experience, our amazing Prep staff for your support, and to all of our wonderful parent volunteers who helped make the day such a success.
