Contributing to the development of policies which affect seniors, and advocating on their behalf to government and other decision making bodies;
Providing services directly to seniors in the community, particularly those who are disadvantaged or socially isolated;
Offering information and education programs relating to seniors issues to seniors, their families and their carers. RDCOTA is staffed entirely by volunteers and is not funded by government. We rely on donations from individuals and organisations, fund raising activities, business partnerships and specific purpose grants from various sources to carry out our work. We are grateful to our generous donors, sponsors and supporters who enable us to pursue our mission – “To maximise support, minimise barriers and recognise the value of Seniors in the Redlands”. The Redland District Committee on the Ageing (RDCOTA) works in association with the Council on the Ageing Queensland (COTAQ) and COTA Australia.
