Day 5 of our Regional Road Trip - Rockhampton!
We wrapped up the week, speaking to young people from Rockhampton and surrounding areas, both at schools and our media sessions.

Day 4 of Regional Road Trip. YMCA QYP Youth Members, Youth Advisory Council and Executive went to the Townsville Supreme and District Court.
We watched a mention, an arraignment and a trial. We were also lucky enough to have a chat and a Q & A with Justice Johnstone!
This was a wonderful educational experience and insight into the judicial system for our local Townsville Youth Members and Advisory Council.

Day 2 of Regional Road Trip. YMCA QYP Youth Members, Youth Advisory Council and Executive went to the Cairns Supreme and District Court.
We were lucky enough to sit in on the proceedings. We watched a sentencing, pre-trial hearing and a directions hearing. Judge Fantin also had a chat with us, including a Q & A!
What a valuable learning experience this was for our local Cairns Youth Members and Advisory Council.

Today’s Youth Impact Lab Showcase brought together passionate young leaders, UQ design students, and community stakeholders to explore bold ideas for the future of Queensland communities.
From creative solutions to meaningful conversations, the showcase highlighted the power of collaboration, youth voice, and innovation in driving real change.
A huge thank you to everyone who presented, attended, and contributed to such an inspiring evening.

Over the next coming weeks, our Executive team have the task of reading through everyone’s nominations and appointing our 2026 Youth Member cohort.
