So brave to share...takes practice. Thank you Ladybugs for all you do.

Today was a Difficult Day," said Pooh. There was a pause. "Do you want to talk about it?" asked Piglet.

"No," said Pooh after a bit. "No, I don't think I do."

"That's okay," said Piglet, and he came and sat beside his friend.

"What are you doing?" asked Pooh.

"Nothing, really," said Piglet. "Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often don't feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either.

"But goodness," continued Piglet, "Difficult Days are so much easier when you know you've got someone there for you. And I'll always be here for you, Pooh."

And as Pooh sat there, working through in his head his Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Piglet sat next to him quietly, swinging his little legs...he thought that his best friend had never been more right.

To our Pathways friends and families, 2022 is upon us and I look forward to returning to the clinic next week after a long period of absence.

For those not aware, I underwent surgery after a nasty fall, breaking my ankle. I am walking now with my moonboot and able to manage stairs.

I will be contacting families next week to organise new times for 2022 and begin our intakes for the Term 1 FRIENDS programs.

Thank you everyone for the time you have allowed me to heal over the past few months. I am very fortunate.

I hope your Christmas was peaceful and your New Year promising.

Talk soon.

A very happy mum found this awesome little business recently for her beautiful daughter who has significant allergies. A small business worth supporting I think. I am putting an order in today - they deliver to Brisbane!

One of our lovely parents shared this link to AQ's Movie Club. Autism QLD is running this for teens only over the school holidays. The kids will watch movies and discuss. Registrations close tomorrow though so if interested get onto it.

Let me know if you do attend as I would love to get feedback I can share.

Just had to share the efforts of the girls in the FRIENDS For Life Group. They were tasked with identifying the clues our bodies give us when we are angry or scared. If we know these clues then we can put our coping tools in place sooner and manage our big feelings.

Lego Club this term has been a smash...literally! Week 3 saw the kids use at least 20 lego pieces to create the most stable structure they could. Congratulations to Jack W, whose creation survived a 3m stairwell drop. All the kids learned to manage disappointment well and were even able to use green thoughts to enjoy the outcome. Week 4 will see us create a marble maze out of lego, just in case you want to try at home.

Beautiful photos hot of the press for our resident Social Worker Leigh Fraser Gray. Leigh has based herself here at Pathways for 3 years now and is part of the furniture. Make sure you say hi if you see her around. She is very friendly!
