Trinity Anglican School, Cairns recently hosted a planting project with its outdoor recreation students, and we were proud to supply 400 trees to support their efforts.

Despite very wet conditions, around 40 students planted every single tree in just one hour - a fantastic effort that will help stabilise creek erosion on the school grounds.

This initiative builds on our connection with Trinity Anglican School as a landholder for the Bayview Heights to White Rock Underground Cable Project.

Powerlink has connected nine big battery projects in the past year, totalling more than 2GW of storage.

Recently we have energised connections to the second stage of Quinbrook's Supernode BESS, Lightsource bp's Woolooga BESS, Stanwell Battery and Iberdrola Australia's Broadsound BESS. This enables them to progress through to testing and commissioning.

Once fully operational, the four batteries will provide a combined 940MW of storage - enough to power up to 940,000 homes at peak demand.

Powerlink was proud to join Murra Pathways’ Careers Expo which connected 20+ employers with more than 70 First Nations students.

Murra Pathways plays an important role in creating meaningful opportunities between First Nations students and employers - fostering connections for long-term, supported career pathways to help young people explore their potential.

We were inspired by the passion and curiosity of the students and the strong interest in careers in the energy sector.

Did you know?

System strength is the transmission network’s ability to maintain stable voltage during everyday operation and when disturbances hit, like sudden changes in generation, load or an unexpected fault.

It’s a critical part of power system operations, ensuring electricity keeps flowing reliably across the grid.

As the designated system strength provider for Queensland, Powerlink is responsible for acquiring system strength services to ensure network stability.
