Did you know out of every $100 in tax you pay, local councils get just $3?💰

Yet it’s councils that provide the roads, parks, pools, libraries and infrastructure that growing communities like ours need every day.

As Brisbane’s population continues to surge, that $3 has to stretch further than ever.

That’s why we need the Federal Government to step-up. Rapid population growth is a challenge that can’t be solved on 3 cents in the dollar.

There aren't many events where you'll see Brisbane's business leaders swapping spreadsheets for sequins 💃✨

Dancing CEOs brought together leaders from across our city for a night of entertainment, fundraising and community support, all in aid of Women’s Legal Service Queensland.

Beyond the performances, the event was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when Brisbane comes together to support women and children impacted by domestic and family violence.

The is back and better than ever. 🎷

After backing this much loved community venue with grant funding, we’re thrilled to see the finished result.

A bigger stage, higher roof and better flood resilience. This is what investing in our community looks like.

340 sandstone blocks. One very big uphill journey. ⛰️

We’re upgrading Mt Gravatt Outlook Reserve with new terraced seating at the summit and improved paths to the café to make the walk easier for everyone.

The best part? The reserve will remain open while works are underway - so you can keep enjoying one of the city’s favourite lookouts.

Safe to say the view will be worth it.

⚔️ Swords drawn.
🥁Drums beating.
🇦🇺 Flags flying.

Brisbane’s CBD was transformed today as HMAS Brisbane exercised its Freedom of Entry through the city. ⚓

This special ceremonial tradition recognises the long-standing relationship between Brisbane and the Royal Australian Navy, with Navy personnel marching through the city alongside the Navy band in full ceremonial dress.

It was a proud moment for Brisbane residents to come together and acknowledge the service, professionalism and dedication of those who serve our nation.

Brisbane parents, this one is for you!

One of Brisbane's most beautiful riverside spots is getting a massive upgrade and it is going to be a fantastic new destination for your family days out.

We're adding more nature play, more lawn space and more reasons to get the kids outside and explore.

Works are already underway so watch this space because Graceville Riverside Parklands is about to become your new favourite weekend spot.

This project is delivered in partnership with the Australian Government.

Many years ago others saw a derelict wharf. We saw the potential to create a world-class riverfront destination for Brisbane.

Today, Howard Smith Wharves has become one of Australia’s great urban transformation success stories and one of the most popular places to enjoy our river city.

We’ve continued backing the precinct every step of the way, including making it easier to get there with new CityCat services and better public transport connections helping more people leave the car at home and enjoy everything Brisbane has to offer.

Now we’re announcing the next chapter for Howard Smith Wharves, with more jobs, more hotel rooms, more to see and do and even more reasons to experience Brisbane’s incredible river lifestyle. 👀
