Better late than never. Meet Diana, our Sector Engagement and Development volunteer.

Diana is an invaluable member of the Volunteering Queensland team, supporting the Sector Engagement and Development team research and analyse trends affecting the local community sector to help develop practical support strategies.

Diana wanted to volunteer because she had extra time she wanted to spend differently. “I was looking for a productive way to add a bit of structure to my week and step out of my routine.”

When asked how volunteering has impacted her, Diana said: “On a personal level, this role has given me a profound sense of purpose. Knowing that my work helps build sustainable systems and supports the people driving community initiatives is incredibly rewarding.”

If Diana motivates you to give volunteering a go, search our volunteer roles and get involved: https://volunteeringqld.org.au/

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures, and futures, and to consider the role we each play in reconciliation.

This year's theme, 'All in', reminds us that reconciliation requires ongoing action, learning, and commitment for all of us.

Here at Volunteering Queensland, we are committed to learning more about our shared histories and cultures, and exploring how we can contribute meaningfully to achieving reconciliation.

Nicole reminds us that volunteering isn’t just about giving, it’s about finding something you love and letting it connect you to community.

What an unforgettable celebration of Queensland’s volunteers.

The 2026 Queensland Volunteering Awards reminded us of something powerful: when Queenslanders give their time, they change lives.

This video is a tribute to the people who lift our communities every single day.

To every nominee, finalist and quiet achiever who shows up for others, thank you. You make Queensland stronger, kinder and more connected and your impact reaches far beyond what you see.

Here’s to our volunteers. Here’s to the spirit of giving. Here’s to you.
