Members of B Squadron, 2/14th Light Horse Regiment, recently completed their ATL 3 assessment, a troop level evaluation focused on tactical cavalry operations and operational readiness.
The assessment tested crews in the planning and ex*****on of reconnaissance and security tasks, the conduct of tactical actions, fieldcraft, and the ability to operate effectively as part of a mounted combat team.
The activity also marked the first battle run conducted by the Boxer CRV Block II as part of its introduction into service, representing another significant step in the Regiment’s transition to the Army’s next generation mounted fighting capability.
Activities such as ATL 3 ensure the Squadron remains prepared to deliver reconnaissance, force protection, and combat support capabilities wherever required.

Last weekend 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment (Queensland Mounted Infantry) marked ANZAC Day through a number of commemorations, two of which were the Brisbane City march and a visit to Quilpie.
In Brisbane, soldiers of the Regiment marched through the city, representing both those currently serving and those who have gone before. The march stands as a visible tribute to the enduring spirit of the Regiment and the legacy carried by its soldiers.
Members of V11, A Squadron, travelled to Quilpie to take part in local commemorations and spend time with the family of Lance Corporal Stjepan “Milo” Milosevic. Standing in his hometown, alongside those who knew him best, is a privilege and a reminder that service extends far beyond the battlefield.
Across both Brisbane and Quilpie, these commemorations reinforce the bonds between Regiment, community, and family. They serve as a reminder that ANZAC Day is not only about history, but about mateship, sacrifice, and the enduring connection between those who serve, those who have fallen, and the families who carry that service with pride.

Timor-Leste
In the lead-up to ANZAC Day, we reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have gone before us, and those who continue to serve today.
The 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment (Queensland Mounted Infantry) played a significant role in Timor-Leste operations, contributing to Australia’s efforts to restore stability, support security, and assist a nation on its path to independence.
From individual reinforcements during International Force East Timor (INTERFET), through service under United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET) on Operation Tanager, and later deploying as part of Australian Combat battalion group (AUSBATT IX) on Operation Citadel, the regiment provided skilled cavalry soldiers and armoured mobility in support of the international mission.
