Not everything belongs in your recycling bin. ♻️

Items like gas cylinders, batteries and anything with an embedded battery should never go in any of your household bins, as they can cause fires and put collection crews at risk.

Instead, drop off these items at a resource recovery centre, where e-waste can be safely recycled.

Not all plastics belong in the same bin. ♻️

Complete the scrunch test to check:
🔴 If it scrunches in your hand and doesn’t hold its shape, it's a soft plastic and belongs in the red bin.
🟡 If it resists crumpling, cracks or bounces back to its original shape, it's a firm plastic and can go in your yellow recycling bin.

The best way to reduce plastic waste is to avoid single-use plastics where you can. 💚
