What if you spent Friday wandering a gallery, a few hours that are entirely yours? No caring responsibilities. No to-do list. Just you, some art, and a small group of people who genuinely understand what you're carrying. If you're a carer who hasn't done something just for you in a while this one's worth registering for.
NOTICE is the second event of our June Living Well Sessions - quiet, curious moments designed for carers to slow down, look up and reconnect with themselves.

Perfection isnβt what helps in these moments. Carers often just need someone steady on the other end of the line. Someone who will listen, understand, and take them seriously.
This role is about connection. Real conversations. Helping carers feel less alone, and linking them to the support available.
Training is provided. The human part is you.
Be the voice carers need.

There are days that stay with you... This is one of them.
The Arafmi Mental Health Carer Forum is returning on 28 July at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Bringing carers together from across South East Queensland for an awesome day.
If you care for someone living with mental health challenges, this is a space designed with you in mind. A place to step out of the constant doing, and into a room where your experience is seen, understood and shared by others who truly get it.
Expect powerful conversations, practical insights and moments that remind you youβre not doing this alone.

Big conversations. Lived Experience leadership. Looking forward π
This week, Arafmi joined people from across Queensland at the Queensland Mental Health Commission 2026 Leading Reform Summit to talk about the future of mental health reform and what needs to change for carers, families and communities.
Irene Clelland, Emma Griffiths, Sue Goodwin and Sasha Ong spent the two days connecting with people across the sector and sharing the experiences of mental health carers.
One of the standout moments for many was the youth panel, where young people spoke honestly about what real support, inclusion, connection and community should look like for the next generation.
There was a strong focus throughout the summit on making sure Lived Experience helps shape reform from the beginning β not as an afterthought.
Because real reform starts by listening to the people most impacted π

Carers often spend so much time supporting others that their own needs can quietly slip down the list. Our monthly Online Carer Support Group is a virtual space to change that, even for an hour.
A relaxed, welcoming group where carers can connect with others who understand the realities of the caring role, share experiences if they wish, or simply listen in without pressure.
Some weeks itβs about conversation. Other times itβs just about being in a space where you donβt have to explain everything.

First Monday of every month - Monday June 1st
π 6pm - 7pm

If youβve been carrying a lot, this is a gentle place to pause, connect and feel supported from the comfort of your own space.

Held each year from 27 May β 3 June, National Reconciliation Week invites all Australians to learn, reflect and take action toward reconciliation together.
It recognises two important moments in Australiaβs history:
π
27 May 1967 β The 1967 Referendum
π
3 June 1992 β The Mabo Decision
These dates honour the voices, courage, and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and future generations.
π Why reconciliation matters - Itβs about truth-telling, respect and building stronger relationships so we can move forward together.
π£ What it looks like in practice
Reconciliation is something we do, not just talk about:
β’ In the relationships we build
β’ In the way we show up in community
β’ In everyday actions and conversations

The theme for this yearβs National Sorry Day is From Sorry to Action. The call is clear, we must move from words to action, and this needs to happen now, not in another decade.
Acknowledging past harm is important, but acting to address it is critical. Sorry signals compassion, action delivers justice.
We encourage you to mark National Sorry Day on 26 May, and to stand with us to ensure this day is part of an ongoing commitment to truth-telling and healing.
