OUR SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS NEXT WEEK!

From Tuesday 20 October to Friday 23 October, Lishman Library will be filled with books ready to be browsed, discovered and taken home.

Whether your child loves graphic novels, funny stories, adventures, mysteries, picture books, fact books or the latest book in a favourite series, there's plenty to explore — and they get to choose what catches their eye.

And remember, every purchase helps our school earn free books and resources for the library and classrooms.

Plus, students will enter our raffle!

We hope you enjoyed your holiday reads however it's time to bring them back so that they can be reunited with our Librarians who have missed them terribly.

But fret not, you can borrow again just as soon as your current reads are popped through the returns slot.

WE'VE MISSED OUR BOOKS! 📚

We hope you've enjoyed some wonderful reads together over the holidays, however, our shelves have been looking a bit sad and forlorn without their book buddies weighing them down and we're all very excited to be reunited.

So, please don't forget to pack your Library books ready to be returned next week.

But don't be sad! There will be plenty more books for you to borrow just as soon as you've popped your old ones through the return slot! Woo hoo!

✨ BUY A BOOK. GROW OUR LIBRARY. ✨

A Book Fair isn't just about taking home new books.

Every purchase made at our Scholastic Book Fair helps our school earn resources for the library and classrooms. When your child finds a book they love, your purchase helps us put more books and resources into the hands of our students too.

It means more choice on our library shelves.
More opportunities for students to discover a new favourite.
And more resources to support reading and learning across the school.

It's a lovely little cycle:

You choose a book → your child gets a book → our school gets resources → more students get to discover books.

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be open in Lishman Library from 20–23 October 2026.

And don't forget our prize draw!
One entry per student, per day — no minimum spend required.

How’s the holiday reading going? 📚

Have your children discovered a new book they’ve really enjoyed these holidays? Rediscovered an old favourite? Or perhaps found a series they just can’t put down?

We’d love to hear what they’re reading! Have they found a book they think we should add to our Library collection? Let us know in the comments — we’re always looking for great recommendations from our readers.

✨ LET THEM CHOOSE THE BOOK! ✨

Sometimes the hardest part of getting a child to read is finding the book they actually want to read.

And there’s good reason to let them take the lead.

Scholastic’s Australian Kids & Family Reading Report found that 91% of children aged 6–17 say their favourite books are the ones they have picked out themselves, while 89% say they are more likely to finish a book they have chosen themselves.

That’s one of the things we love about a Book Fair — children get to browse, explore and discover books that genuinely catch their attention.

Whether it’s a funny picture book, a graphic novel, a mystery, a Minecraft adventure or the next book in a favourite series, there’s something pretty special about choosing a book for yourself.

Come and let them find their next read!

And remember — there are prizes to be won, with no minimum spend required!
