How can we improve healthcare for people with intellectual disability living in rural and regional Australia?
Enable WA is a partner in Rural Compass, a five-year nationwide research project led by the University of New England, exploring the health experiences of people aged 40 and over with intellectual disability living in rural, regional and remote communities.
The project aims to identify barriers to accessing healthcare and help shape better support as people age. Importantly, people with lived experience are involved as co-researchers, helping guide the research at every stage.
An online survey is now open, and we’re encouraging eligible Participants, their families and carers to get involved. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and responses can be provided independently, with support, or by a family member, friend or carer on someone’s behalf.
