🌊🐢 Want to make a difference this turtle season?

From 1 November to 31 March, turtles will be returning to Bundaberg's beaches to nest and the community can play a big part in protecting them.

A few simple things can help:

💚 Switch off unnecessary outdoor lights to help turtles find their way.
💚 Stay off the dunes and protect nesting sites.
💚 Keep dogs on leads.
💚 Avoid night time four-wheel driving on Moore Park Beach.
💚 Slow down when boating along our coastline.

It's their nesting season, but protecting them is a team effort. Let's make every little action count!

☎️📱 Ring, ring! ☎️📱If you get a phone call asking you to rate your satisfaction with Bundaberg Regional Council it’s legit💯.

We’ve engaged Taverner Research to undertake our 2026 Community Satisfaction Survey, asking residents to rate their satisfaction with specific services.

They will be contacting residents between 9 November and 4 December 2026.

A few things to note:

📞 Don’t call us, we’ll call you. Survey participants are randomly selected to ensure the results are statistically relevant. That means the participants will represent the region’s demographics as accurately as possible to ensure the results reflect the entire community’s views.

🚫 The survey team will never ask for sensitive details like addresses or personal financial information.

👤 Survey responses are confidential. The information is collated and themed before being provided to Bundaberg Regional Council.

The survey team will contact residents from the number (07) 4138 7010. If this number is required to change throughout the survey process the details will be updated here: https://www.bundaberg.qld.gov.au/Council/About-us/Our-performance/Community-Satisfaction-Survey so that residents can confirm its validity.

There is a severe thunderstorm warning for damaging winds, heavy rainfall and large hailstones that may impact the region.

The Bureau of Meteorology has reported a slow-moving trough is combining with a moist and unstable atmosphere to produce severe thunderstorms through parts of the southeastern half of the state this afternoon.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Maroochydore, Gympie, Bundaberg, Noosa Heads, Maryborough and Hervey Bay.

🔴 Safety advice

Emergency services advise people to:

* Park your car undercover away from trees.

* Close doors and windows.

* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.

* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.

* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.

* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.

* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.

* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
