📢 Important update: Consent changes to online services used at schools.

From 25 October 2026, Queensland state schools no longer need individual consent to use and share your child’s relevant information such as their name and email address when using Approved Online Services.

Privacy and security safeguards remain. Consent is still required for sensitive information such as health information.

Approved Online Services are assessed against a national framework for privacy, online security and other requirements under section 426A of the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 (Qld) before being approved for use in Queensland state schools.

Parents, carers and independent students can choose to opt out of an Approved Online Service by contacting us in writing.

🚀 Invitation to Our Burleigh Voyager Golden Record Showcase! 🌎✨
In 1977, the Voyager space mission carried the famous Golden Record into space, sharing a snapshot of life on Earth with any intelligent beings who might discover it. But almost 50 years have passed since then. Our world has changed and who knows what the future may hold?
Is there life out there in the universe? What would we tell intelligent beings about life on Earth today?
Year 2 and Year 3 students have been inspired by the famous Voyager space missions and the Golden Record sent into space in 1977. Using Minecraft Education, students have planned, designed and built their own digital version of the Burleigh Voyager Golden Record, showcasing what they believe is important about our world, our community and life on Earth.
Our Year 4 students have been imagining what a new Golden Record might include if it were updated for future generations. Using Minecraft Education, students have designed and built Burleigh Heads State School of the Future, creating virtual worlds that explore different points in time and showcase how our school, community, technology and daily life might evolve over the years ahead.
We warmly invite our special "Intelligent Beings" (parents and family members) to visit during Week 7 STEAM lessons to explore these exciting future worlds. Students will guide you through their creations, explain their ideas and share their vision. You may even have the opportunity to learn some Minecraft building skills from our future-focused designers!
