A big thank you to Regional Australia Bank for their generous donation via the Community Partnership Program.
I urge anyone with an R.A.B. account to nominate a volunteer organisation. It costs you nothing and makes a big difference to volunteer groups.

🔥 FIRE PERMITS NOW REQUIRED 🔥

From today, Fire Permits are now required before undertaking burning activities within the Bush Fire Danger Period - Mid Coast and Port Macquarie Hastings LGAs.

If you’re planning to burn, remember:

- Obtain your permit before lighting up
- Notify the RFS and adjoining neighbours at least 24 hours before you light up
- Check weather conditions and the Fire Danger Rating
- Ensure you have adequate firefighting equipment and supervision over the burn
🚫 Never burn during a Total Fire Ban
📞 If your fire escapes, call Triple Zero (000) immediately

Fire permits are free and help ensure burning is carried out safely to protect our community.

For more information, or to apply for a permit, visit:

Please burn responsibly and help us keep our community safe. 🔥🚒

Don’t let distance fool you. A bush fire’s embers can destroy homes...

If you’re planning a pile burn over the coming days, it’s worth taking a little extra care.

We’ve seen a number of pile burns escape across the state recently, including a few closer to home. This often happens when conditions change quickly or piles become too large to manage safely.

When planning a pile burn, a few things to keep in mind:
🔥 Keep piles small and manageable (low and wide, not high)
🔥 Only burn dry, natural vegetation, not household materials
🔥 Choose calm conditions and keep an eye on the weather
🔥 Have water, tools and equipment ready before you light up
🔥 Stay with your fire at all times and fully extinguish it when finished

And importantly
📞 Notify your neighbours and the RFS at least 24 hours before you burn

Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).

Planning a burn on your property? 🚨🔥

You are required to notify NSW RFS and your neighbours 24hrs before you light up. Recent days and weeks have seen multiple burns escape, putting properties and lives at risk right across the mid coast.

Do the right thing — notify before you burn:

Don’t be the fire risk in your community.
