🎬 LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! FATCAT DOES IT AGAIN!😂

With brand-spanking-new Deputy Manager Carol only having her stripes for five minutes, she was already deeply involved in the shenanigans! 🚨

We were absolutely thrilled to host Channel 7 Regional for the opportunity to prove that we are, in fact, completely normal, balanced and professional… for most of the time. 😇

With Carol esculating the situation and Grump behind the desk slamming the door and muttering 'no comment' well what can we say... watch out for those two there will be trouble

SES: serious about emergencies… questionable about everything else. 🧡

🚨 SES INCIDENT REPORT — TONIGHT’S ACTIVITIES 🚨

AGM: Possibly the fastest in history. Members were voted out… then voted straight back in 20 seconds later!
We also welcomed 2 new members to assist in the kingdoms of Welfare & Vehicles.

Congratulations to our newest member on receiving his SES ID number — there’s no going back now! 😈

Meanwhile, BOB’s attempted coup to overthrow Fatcat and become Unit Manager was unsuccessful. BOB has been returned to the shed to read the DFES Code of Conduct… again! 📖

For those who don’t know BOB… He's a saucy minx

Training: Two teams went head-to-head building a roof safety system under the watchful eye of our Vertical Rescue Team Leader.
Absolutely no pressure there at all! 👀😂 the man knows things..... so many things, considering he plays on cliffs we hope he does!

Final assessment:
🪢 Knots ? How much do we love em — insatiably
😂 Laughing — unavoidable
🚨 SES chaos — under control
😈 BOB — contained...... for now
Another successful night at SES! 🪢🚨😂

BGR USAR Sunday — Rubble Pile Rumble! 🪨🚨

Today’s aim was simple: climb the rocks, rescue Bob (Body Outta Bag) and remember everything you learned yesterday.

The teams were set, the views were spectacular and Bob was ready for his big adventure — peanuts in hand, in-flight movie selected and demanding a pleasant ride down the rocks. 🥜🎬

Bob was unavailable for comment. Next time we’ll draw him a smiley face with a black Texta so we can at least get some debrief feedback, he has the right to be heard!

Although knowing Bob, he’ll probably go running to management because Bridget Jones’s Diary wasn’t available 😂

A massive congratulations to our newest Gold Star winners from:

⭐ Busso — the home team
⭐ Margs — the almost-home team!
⭐ Bridgetown & Manjimup — the way down the road and hang a right home team!

Nothing says unit cooperation quite like getting together and beating up Bob. 😂 (To be fair, we think he likes it...)

Huge thanks to our trainers and team leaders for all the planning, preparation and training — and for the repeated reminder that three points of contact means THREE points of contact, even when you’re convinced you’ve discovered a revolutionary new technique involving two. You haven't it doesn't work!

A massive shout-out to The Good Egg for keeping everyone fed, and The Esplanade for accommodating our crew.

Another great day of training, teamwork, problem-solving, Bob abuse and laughs!

BGR USAR rock stars.
(Complete pun intended) 🪨⭐🚨

Today was Day One of the BGR USAR — Basic General Rescue / Urban Search and Rescue 2-for-1 combo deal.

And what a bargain it was.

For the low, low price of our weekend, we received:

🪢 Double knots
🪜 Extra ladders
🏢 Building classification and collapse patterns
🧯 Fire extinguisher training
⚡ Generators
🛏️ Stretcher packaging
🧱 And, because apparently we hadn't suffered enough, a small rubble-pile climb coming up Sunday.

Add in some stretcher training, basically, take one perfectly innocent human being (BOB was RDO) wrap them up like an unusually large burrito 🌯, add a stretcher, a few straps, some teamwork.

Job done.

The philosophy is simple:

Learn the tools of your craft.
Practise.
Repeat.
Try not to break anything.
And if something does break… look at the person next to you with a slight head nod to the closet trainer, grumpy behind the desk will be activated.. take a bearing of 108 degrees and head for Melbourne and don't look back

Then, once you've survived all that, you can tip your trainers generously (double Chai Latte and Monte Carlo biscuits), collect your imaginary gold star ⭐ and proudly progress towards the Master Class of General Rescue, with a few more courses in between to complete the Search and Rescue resume.

Bring on Sunday!!

🚨💜 EMERGENCY UPDATE – PURPLE ALERT IN EFFECT 💜🚨

FREO WINS AGAIN! 🟣⚓

Cyclone conditions across Sydney have now been upgraded to PURPLE, with the wharf experiencing EXTREME FLOODING due to an unprecedented influx of highly enthusiastic Dockers supporters. 🌊😂 participating in WHARFIE TIME

Emergency Management authorities have established an Incident Management Team (IMT) to coordinate the rapidly escalating situation, as thousands of Freo fans begin their migration towards the finals. 🏆🟣

🚨 CURRENT CONDITIONS:
🌪️ Cyclone intensity —PURPLE
🌊 Wharf flooding — EXTREME
🟣 Docker enthusiasm — OFF THE CHARTS

Meanwhile, K9 units, SES crews and specialist search teams have been deployed across Sydney to locate the missing remains of the Swans’ hope and dreams. 🐕🔎

Search teams have reportedly found:

- One abandoned Swans scarf
- Three empty bottles of coping mechanisms
- A suspiciously large pile of excuses.

🟣 PURPLE ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE.

Fremantle is heading to the finals.
Sydney is heading to the recovery centre. 😂⚓🏆

Well, the loonies have taken over the asylum… again!🤪

The antics of Orange continued today with more BOB abuse (T&Cs checked — he’s fine with it 😂). This time, BOB himself had a lovely chat with our new DLM over a cuppa about boundaries… because apparently BOB has opinions now and feelings deep deep feelings! ☕😂

Then came the tent challenge. 🏕️

“Anyone can build a tent,” I hear you say…

Try doing it blindfolded!🙈

Fatcat decided instructions AND eyesight were optional, turning training into a masterclass in chaos and questionable well questionable everything

Build a tent with no instructions? ✔️
Build it in the dark? ✔️
Combine the two? Absolutely!🤣 how does he do it folks? we all ask and why does he not like us?

Grumpy behind the desk had no extra paperwork today just organising a party something about hard earned medals and appreciating those years of service and hundreds of training hours was mumbled before the door was shut ...a party has been predicted to occur before Grumpy has a grump attack… so obviously, we’re working against the clock! 😂 will we ever get one ... unclear at this time

BOB survived, no feelings were hurt, and some random unit manager bloke celebrated a birthday last week.

Wow.… just another completely normal day in our little corner of chaos!

Sunday Arvo Antics✓

Good golly, Miss Molly!! 😂

Sunday arvo Facebook procrastination is in FULL SWING— coffee ☕, Monte Carlo biscuits 🍪 and absolutely nothing productive happening!

Then… OH LA LA!! 🎉
10 new followers for Orange Antics this week!

Welcome to the nightmare! 🍊😂 You’ve officially wandered into our little corner of Facebook where orange things happen, common sense occasionally goes missing, and nobody really knows what’s going on… least of all the FB team which technically is the grumpy one behind the desk but we like to pretend they have a "team" ( number of team members 0 due to grumpy outbursts)! 🤣

Thanks for your support and for joining the chaos! 🧡 And thanks to everyone for sticking it out this long ! We are not sure if DFES have a medal for long-suffering followers service but they should! So to the 3,290 good onya and to the 10 Welcome !!

Now, back to the important stuff… _sip, scroll, biscuit, repeat._ ☕🍪
