Fire EMT is a growing North Brisbane based fire safety and emergency management organisation servicing well-known brands throughout Australia. We specialise in providing complete emergency management planning, compliance and training services to enable facilities to meet their regulatory obligations. Firefighters' Remembrance Day 🚒 🔥

On 10th October 2026, we pause to honour and remember the courageous firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

We also acknowledge and thank the many serving and former firefighters within the Fire EMT team for their commitment, professionalism, and dedication to community safety. We greatly value the experience, knowledge, and contribution they bring to our organisation and the communities we support. 🚒 A New Look, and the Return of EMT1! 🚒
Another of our new FireEMT utes is getting its finishing touches, with the new branding now going on and the vehicle ready to become a very visible part of the FireEMT fleet.
Over recent times, FireEMT has undertaken a vehicle replacement program, progressively refreshing our fleet and making the move from Toyota to Isuzu for our newer vehicles.
This latest Isuzu ute is looking the part, complete with FireEMT branding, our familiar red and black colour scheme, and the equipment setup needed to support our fire safety, emergency management and training work.
But there is one particularly special detail on this vehicle...
EMT1 is back.
The EMT1 registration, previously used by FireEMT and retired by Garry Dawson during COVID, has now returned to the fleet.
In a fitting continuation of FireEMT history, Steve Rook, one of our new Directors, has inherited EMT1, bringing a familiar registration into a new chapter for the company.
While our vehicles, equipment and branding continue to evolve, the FireEMT commitment remains the same: professional service, practical experience and a strong focus on fire safety and emergency preparedness.

Founder. Director. Mentor.

Garry Dawson really needs no introduction. A highly respected name within the emergency management and fire safety industry, he has been leading the way since founding Fire EMT in 2008.

With extensive experience gained through 15 years of military service and a further 11 years with the Australian Aviation Rescue & Fire Fighting Service, Garry has been involved in countless emergency situations as both a responder and leader.

To us here at Fire EMT, one of Garry's greatest contributions is the mentorship and support he provides to our team. He generously shares his knowledge, experience, and leadership, helping develop the next generation of emergency management professionals.

Fire EMT would not be here without him, and it would not be what it is today without his vision, dedication, and guidance.

Over the past few months, our incredible team of instructors have been hard at work delivering fire safety and emergency management services across Australia. Examples of just some of the work our instructors have been undertaking is:

- Supporting our long-standing client, Sunwater, with training and emergency management services delivered to more than 40 sites nationally, both onsite and remotely.

- Conducting evacuation exercises across large university campuses, helping staff, students and stakeholders build confidence and preparedness in emergency situations.

- Undertaking realistic fire scenarios to perform quality and engaging Evacuation Exercises for our clients.

Behind every successful training session, exercise, and evacuation plan is a dedicated team committed to improving workplace safety and emergency readiness.

Today, Garry Dawson one of our directors had the privilege of attending the 25th Anniversary 9/11 Commemoration in Towns County, Georgia, USA.

It was a moving experience to stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow emergency responders and members of the wider community as we remembered those who lost their lives and honoured the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who answered the call on one of the most significant days in modern history.

As an Australian attending this event in the United States, I felt deeply honoured to represent not only myself, but also the organisations that have played such an important role in my professional journey. I proudly stood as a former and/or serving member of Fire EMT Pty Ltd, Fire EMT USA LLC, Australian Aviation Rescue Firefighting, the Australian Union of Firefighters (AUFU), and the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE).

The ceremony was a powerful reminder that the values of service, dedication, professionalism, and community know no borders. Whether in Australia or the United States, emergency responders share a common commitment to protecting and supporting those we serve.

Thank you to the Towns County community for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful and respectful commemoration.
