Cape York Partnership Cape York Partnership is an Indigenous policy reform and leadership organisation dedicated to empowering Cape York Indigenous people.

Cape York Partnership pursues Indigenous empowerment. The long hand of government intervention in the lives of Indigenous people has too often smothered Indigenous initiative, leadership and responsibility. Cape York Partnership is an Indigenous organisation that has stood up to lead a comprehensive reform agenda to turn this on its head. We want to ensure that Indigenous rights and responsibility exist in proper balance, and Indigenous people are truly enabled to be the masters of their own exciting destinies. Cape York Partnership believes economic engagement is central to individual and social wellbeing. To that end, we partner with governments, corporates and philanthropists to encourage the emergence of a prosperous yet distinctly Indigenous people, whose children can orbit between communities and the Australian and global world and enjoy the best of both. Our touchstone is our partnership with individuals, families and communities as they strive for lives of value, freedom and prosperity. We believe in the potential of all people. We place our children’s rights to a better future at the forefront. Above all, Cape York Partnership takes, and expects from our partners, responsibility for leading positive change. The guiding light of Cape York Partnership is the Cape York Agenda. The aspirations of Cape York people became the Cape York Agenda:
• Rebuild social norms
• Restore Indigenous authority
• Address the welfare pedestal through changing the incentive
• Support engagement in the real economy
• Move from welfare housing to home ownership
• Enable children to make full use of their talents, creativity and to enjoy the best of both worlds

Patrina is putting money aside for what matters to her family. 🏉

She has begun contributing to her children's SET accounts to plan for education and extracurricular expenses, including sport for her older son.

She has also restarted contributions to her two Personal Savers, keeping her own family goals in view.

Want to plan ahead for upcoming expenses? Speak with your local O-Hub team.

Every step forward is a step towards stronger, healthier communities. 💚

On Saturday, our O-Hub team packed up the mobile O-Hub truck, ‘Hub on the GO’, to proudly support the Walk to Heal, Nganthanun thamal thagal gulbuuygu, meaning "Our one foot forward together".

More than 50 people came together to walk or run approximately 15 kilometres from Bull Creek to Bambies Crossing in the Hope Vale region, united in support of mental health awareness, su***de prevention, healing, remembrance and connection.

We believe lasting change starts with strong individuals, families and communities who are empowered to shape their own futures.

The Walk to Heal was a powerful example of that spirit in action. It showed what is possible when people come together, take responsibility for looking after one another and create space for conversations that matter.

For our O-Hub team, being part of moments like these reflects our commitment to working alongside Cape York communities, building trusted relationships, strengthening local capability and supporting people to lead positive change in their own lives.

Every step taken, every conversation shared and every act of kindness contributes to stronger connections and a community where people feel supported and valued.

Together, we can keep building a future where wellbeing, connection and opportunity go hand in hand.

Let's keep checking in on our loved ones, looking out for one another, and reminding those around us that no one has to face life's challenges alone. 💚

Practical tools to support personal goals! 📱

Through our Pama Platform, we're helping Cape York people access useful digital tools to manage their savings, work towards their goals and stay connected with community.

Kathleen recently visited our Cairns office, where our team helped her get started with Pama on her own device.

She explored how to track her Personal Saver savings, earn Pama Points and keep up with local events through the community calendar, a feature she particularly enjoyed!

“Pama is really good. It has a lot of information,” Kathleen shared.

With support from our O-Hub teams, Pama is another way we're making practical tools and information more accessible.

Want to explore Pama for yourself? Visit your local O-Hub and yarn with our team about getting started!

Building skills and delivering quality work in Kuranda! 👷🏽‍♂️

Our Bama Services team has been putting their skills to work in Kuranda, recently completing landscape construction works, including this retaining wall.

Projects like this highlight the practical skills and capability of our crews, while providing opportunities to build experience and take pride in delivering quality outcomes for clients.

From landscape construction to ongoing maintenance, Bama Services continues to demonstrate the value of a skilled and capable workforce across Far North Queensland.

At Cape York Partnership, we're proud to support the growth of Indigenous enterprise and workforce capability through the work of our Bama Services team.

Well done to the crew on another completed project! 👏

Creating pathways to local employment! 💙

Sometimes, taking the next step towards employment means having the right checks and requirements in place.

Earlier this month, the Queensland Blue Card team spent three days in Lockhart River, with a fantastic turnout of local residents taking steps towards new employment opportunities!

For those interested in working in education, childcare, sport or community services, obtaining a Blue Card can be an important part of preparing for work.

Through our Cape York Employment team, we're committed to supporting local jobseekers to build their skills, confidence and readiness for meaningful employment.

Visits like this are particularly valuable in remote communities, helping make essential employment processes more accessible and supporting people to pursue opportunities closer to home.

A big thank you to the Queensland Blue Card team for making the trip to Lockhart River and to everyone who came along to take a positive step towards their employment goals! 👏

Building a stronger local workforce starts with creating opportunities for people to take that next step.

Leadership beyond the classroom! 🏉

As the new school term gets underway, we're celebrating the ways our Cape York Leaders Program students stayed connected with their communities over the recent school holidays.

Indigenous rugby league carnivals brought plenty of opportunities for our students to get involved, whether playing on the field, cheering from the sidelines or volunteering as League Safe Officers.

Beyond the footy, these carnivals are an important opportunity for young people to reconnect with family and friends, celebrate culture and strengthen their sense of belonging.

We're particularly proud of those who stepped up as League Safe Officers, taking on responsibility and helping support players and games throughout the carnivals.

It's wonderful to see our young leaders putting teamwork, responsibility and community spirit into practice beyond the classroom. 👏

Congratulations to all our students who got involved!

A fantastic achievement from last term for our Cape York Leaders Program students, Arathea and Trinity at The Rockhampton Grammar School. 🌟

Both achieved the Bronze level of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, completing activities across volunteering, physical recreation, skill development and adventurous journeys.

Reaching Bronze takes commitment, persistence and a willingness to challenge yourself. It’s great to see Arathea and Trinity’s effort recognised through this important milestone.

We’re proud to celebrate their achievement and the determination they brought to the journey.

Congratulations, Arathea and Trinity! 👏
