Our president Kristy, Secretary Michelle and treasurer Irene pulled together our October bus trip.
Big thanks. We also welcomed several club visitors to join us who enjoyed the day. Great to have you along.
After a good browse at the Bundaberg Wholesalers we met Lenzie who is proudly 90 years old and brandishing the personal health benefits of eating only his own home grown organic fruit and veges. His home soil balance and texture is created and maintained without fertilizer additives. Problems and pests are managed biologically.
What an inspiration and great to listen to. Thank you!
The size and quality of his produce speaks to success in his practices.

We visited a 'Food Forest' in Bundy. Thank you Hanns and Collette
We learnt about, among other things, Biochar.
A fascinatingly inspiring burning process which results in, as indicated by name, a char (a little different...more porous than charcoal).
The char acts like a sponge when mixed with manure or worm tea etc to charge it up. This results in a soil additive which locks in moisture, nutrients and carbon, and provides a microbiobial habitat.

This coming weekend instead of our usual meeting, our club is taking a bus to Bundaberg to join our lovely hosts BOGGI. We are so looking forward to organic growing tips and lots of chatter about gardening in general.

Have you been to have a peek at the intriguing bonsai out at the Tondoon Gardens?

As we head into beautiful September time for a garden spruce up. Having a bit of a working bee on Saturday 5th. Just rock up with gloves to spread a bit of mulch to try to conserve any moisture we are lucky enough to get. Members, make any newcomers welcome. It's not all about toil, lots of camaraderie on these days. Enjoy and thanks in advance!
Pictures are from our last garden visit with Kristy at River Ranch Estate. Lovely day out.

We head into a new financial year after a fruitful and enjoyable AGM. We welcome several new members as well some fresh faces onto the committee. Thank you all for stepping in. And huge thanks to the retiring executive committee for past dedication.
Had some tasty platters from Salties, and learned things about inflorescence (the colour on the throat of Di's beautiful broms).

We had a little bit of chitty chat at our last meeting despite only a cosy few present due to clashing with Mt Larc Show.
Are you familiar with an Ant Plant? Thanks Di (M). And how cute is this carved wood duck and other articles collected by Sharon in her travels.
NEXT MEETING is our AGM on the 18th July 2026 at 1.30 pm.
Join us for a friendly cuppa and snack
