Burning embers can ignite any build up of flammable material around the home. Keeping your gutters clear is essential for reducing your risk. The more you prepare your home, the more likely it will survive a bush fire or ember attack, even if you leave early.

A well-prepared home can be easier for you or firefighters to defend. A cleared area around your home reduces your risk and means fire is less likely to spread to your neighbours’ homes. Clear away scrub, long grass and other flammable materials from around your home and property to help reduce the spread of fire to adjacent lots.
