Last night Pumper 88 and CAFS Tanker 88 attended a car fire in Airds.

Firefighters arrived to find a car well alight in a field which was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

NSW Police were also in attendance.

Extreme fire danger is forecast for Tomorrow 22/10/2025 a result of high temperatures, strong winds and low humidity across the Sydney Basin. A Total Fire Ban will be in force from midnight tonight until 11:59pm 22/10/2025

Extinguish all outdoor fires now

Macarthur and other parts of Greater Sydney are expecting dangerous fire conditions. You can help prevent accidental fires from starting by:
- Not using tools that produce sparks or flames outside such as grinders and welders
- Postpone mowing or slashing large grassed areas
- Extinguish any smouldering BBQs with coals

Extreme conditions may require you to take immediate action if there is a fire in your area. Have your Bushfire Survival Plan Ready to enact. Take action now to protect your life and property:
- These are dangerous fire conditions
- Check your bush fire plan and ensure that your property is fire ready.
- If a fire starts, take immediate action.
- If you and your property are not prepared to the highest level, go to a safer location well before the fire impacts.
- Reconsider travel through bush fire risk areas.
