The DLP represents and upholds the traditional values and principles of the labour movement, which supports families, workers and communities as the foundations of our society and the basis of all sound economic principle. It is a fundamental policy of the DLP to support a responsible elected government that will promote social and economic justice, a fair and decent society for families and a sense of national direction that will help to make Australia prosperous, self-reliant and secure. Notice: due to the High Court ruling in the Voller case, comments on this page are temporarily disabled. The ruling makes anyone with a social media page liable for adverse material in the comments sections of those pages (e.g. defamatory comments) – even if they didn’t know it was there. To protect the party and its members from the threat of legal action we are forced to cease all comments on our social media pages. Hopefully this can be addressed soon by suitable legislation and we can again allow comments on our posts.

The DLP is in the race.

We're contesting all eight upper house regions and the majority of lower house seats at the Victorian election on 28 November. Victorian Executive Secretary Cary de Wit leads the campaign as our candidate for North Eastern Metropolitan.

"People are sick of politicians who won't say what they really believe," Cary said. "The DLP will say what it stands for, and so will I, because these are principles we actually hold."

This is the first Victorian election since group voting tickets were abolished. Upper house preferences are now directed by voters, not by deals between parties.

"We'll earn every vote the hard way, with ideas you can check against your own life."

New policies every week until election day, on youth crime, free speech, energy, health and families. If it doesn't make sense to you, tell us in the comments.

The foundation of liberalism is free speech.
"Hate speech" is just a propaganda term for speech that socialists hate.
The Liberals support for Labor's "hate speech" laws makes them unfit to call themselves liberal.
