It's World Ocean Day! 🌊

Did you know our oceans are making big waves for a cleaner future? They help tackle climate change by capturing and storing carbon in coastal ecosystems.

Our blue carbon Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) method supports this work. Eligible projects that restore these environments can earn ACCUs as a financial incentive.

Good for the ocean, shore to pay off.

World Environment Day is today and the theme for 2026 is climate change. 🌏

We’re celebrating our scheme participants whose efforts are helping to protect this beautiful place we call home.

In the first quarter of 2026 we:
- saw record levels of small-scale solar installation capacity for a first quarter (791 MW)
- had a record Q1 issuance of 5.5 million ACCUs
- saw the first certificates issued under the Renewable Electricity Guarantee of Origin (REGO) Scheme.

This week is National Reconciliation Week, a time to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.

At the Clean Energy Regulator, we’re building understanding within our agency through an Acknowledgement of Country workshop in Ngunnawal language and hosting a guest speaker from the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation.

Our post features elements of the artwork ‘River of Life’ by Worimi artist Krystal Hurst, licensed for usage by the Clean Energy Regulator.

The Nature Repair Market scheme has reached another key milestone - it’s registered its second project. 🌱

Located 70km inland of Byron Bay, in Doon Doon, NSW, the project aims to restore 19.9 ha of cleared land.

The planting areas will connect existing bushland with Nightcap National Park, strengthening wildlife corridors and critical habitat for animals like koalas and long-nosed potoroos. 🐨

It’s also combined with a project that generates Australian carbon credit units (ACCUs) to help support ongoing costs of maintaining the area.
