🎞️ Devoted couple Ernests and Alvīne are veteran postal workers who have spent decades dreaming of a grand Italian holiday. When they finally win a trip to Rome through a clever scheme, it seems their lifelong wish is within reach. However, their joy is overshadowed by Alvīne's rapidly progressing Alzheimer's disease – a reality they both try to ignore.
The film made its international premiere at the 71st Sydney Film Festival in June 2024. It was featured as a standout selection in the festival’s "Europe! Voices of Women in Film" programme.

🇱🇻 Ambassador Samija Šerifa alongside her 🇪🇪🇱🇹 colleagues participated at the commemorative event in the Latvian House in Sydney, marking the 85th anniversary of the soviet mass deportations of 14 June 1941, and delivered a keynote speech.
🗣️ Ambassador Šerifa noted:
“Let us take this moment to honour the victims of the 1941 soviet deportations who carried with them values the regime could not destroy – memory, dignity, and hope. The soviet regime sought to erase nations through fear and terror. But the Baltic peoples endured because they refused to surrender.
Let us teach future generations about this painful chapter in our history. And let us remain vigilant against current day tyranny, propaganda, and the distortion of truth.
And most importantly, let us unite in our determination to do everything in our power to prevent these tragic chapters of our history from ever happening again.”

❝NATO’s commitment to defend every inch of Allied territory demands that we consistently adapt to an evolving security landscape. As a direct result of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine, we’ve seen more incidents with drones along our eastern flank – both in the air and at sea. NATO is working closely with our Allies to ensure we continue to address this challenge efficiently and effectively, including through discussions today in the North Atlantic Council focused on security along the Black Sea.❞ — NATO Spokesperson Allison Hart
