Get ready book lovers! The Canberra Writers Festival returns this week and is celebrating its 10th anniversary 🎉📖

The festival brings together acclaimed Australian and international authors, bestselling novelists, political thinkers, comedians, journalists, children's writers, illustrators, cartoonists, and some of the most exciting new voices in Australian writing and journalism.

With 110 events and 200 artists celebrating books and storytelling across four exciting days, there's something for everyone no matter what genre you prefer.

And for the first time, you can bring the whole family with a new program of ticketed and free events for kids and young adults, from story time for wiggly kids, manga, live drawing battles, and plenty of other creative activities designed to ignite imaginations.

The Canberra Nara Candle Festival is back on Saturday 24 October! 🕯️✨

Come along to celebrate Canberra's sister city relationship with Nara, Japan, through a magical night of Japanese culture promoting peace and goodwill.

Experience Japanese cultural activities including calligraphy, origami, lantern–making, martial arts demonstrations, a Cosplay competition, food and entertainment. 🏮🥋

At the heart of this magical event there will be the lighting of 2,000 candles that will illuminate the park, creating a stunning visual display throughout the evening.
