A reminder for Kinder to year 6 families we have parent teacher interviews happening next week, commencing on Monday 22 June. Bookings can be made via the parent portal before midnight on Sunday 21st June. After this time you will need to contact the front office to book in for any remaining time slots. Our teachers look forward to talking with you all next week!

We are so proud to have students representing Forrest as part of the ACT IMP Primary Concert Band. Congratulations to Marius, Aadhi, Oscar, Owen, Edward and Mingkai on their fabulous performance at the Winter Winds concert at Llewellyn Hall recently.

We are holding Parent Teacher Interviews in Week 10 (Monday 22 - Friday 26 June).

A reminder that all ACT Public Schools, including Forrest Primary and Deakin preschool, will be closed tomorrow due to industrial action.

📢 REMINDER - All ACT public schools are CLOSED this Thursday 11 June 📢

In order to enable industrial action and keep students safe all ACT public schools, including specialist schools and preschools, are CLOSED this Thursday.

The Education Directorate has decided to close schools to students for the day in the interest of student and staff safety.

The Australian Education Union has notified the Education Directorate that its members will take part in protected industrial action on Thursday. We expect a majority of ACT public school staff will participate in the work stoppage, meaning we are unable to confidently plan for safe and appropriate supervision for all students.

Be aware there will be no onsite supervision available for students on Thursday.

We acknowledge that school closures have significant impacts on families and these decisions are not taken lightly. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

IB Festival of Hope
Last Friday, these amazing Forrest Primary Year 5 students, along with Ms Davis, attended the first-ever International Baccalaureate (IB) Festival of Hope hosted by a PYP network in the southern hemisphere!
The day was organised and led by ACT PYP students.
Our students collaborated with other Year 5s from across our ACT IB PYP Network (120 students in total from ACT Public Schools, Catholic and Independent) to explore what matters to them.
Working through a design thinking process, each mixed group of students developed an action plan and presented their ideas and messages of HOPE.
We are so proud of our Forrest students and can't wait for them to share back with their cohort and put their action ideas to work in our local community!

In order to enable industrial action and keep students safe, all ACT public schools, including specialist schools and preschools, will be CLOSED on Thursday 11 June 2026 (full day).

There will be no onsite supervision on the day.

We are again expecting a large proportion of ACT public school staff will participate in the work stoppage, meaning we are unable to confidently plan for safe and appropriate supervision for all students.
