Congratulations to Mr Mohammed Ali, Founder of HelpingACT, on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours in recognition of his outstanding service to the community of the Australian Capital Territory.

Mr Ali’s recognition reflects his dedication and commitment to addressing food insecurity through HelpingACT, which continues to provide vital support to individuals and families in need across the ACT.

The High Commission wishes him continued success in his future endeavours.

The High Commission hosted an Eid ul Azha reception in Canberra, bringing together a large number of Pakistani students, young professionals, and members of Pakistani diaspora along with their families to celebrate Eid away from home.

Welcoming the guests, High Commissioner Irfan Shaukat encouraged the students to continue striving for academic excellence.

The event strengthened engagement with the community, fostered networking among students and young professionals, and reinforced community ties.

A traditional rubab performance added a vibrant cultural touch to the celebrations.

High Commissioner Irfan Shaukat hosted a delegation from Pakistan participating in the Australia–Pakistan Technical Biosecurity Workshop. The delegation comprising senior officials from Pakistan’s agriculture ministries & departments engaged in advancing cooperation on biosecurity, agricultural innovation, and sustainable farming practices.
The visit highlights the longstanding and productive partnership between the two countries in the agriculture sector, reflecting shared commitment to strengthening technical collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building for agricultural resilience and food security.

High Commissioner Irfan Shaukat called on Hon. Ben Franklin, President of the Legislative Council of New South Wales, at the Parliament of New South Wales. During the meeting, they discussed avenues for enhancing parliamentary cooperation, strengthening engagement with the Pakistani diaspora, expanding education partnerships, promoting trade and investment opportunities, and advancing cultural diplomacy. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan–Australia relations across a wide range of sectors for mutual benefit.
