Yesterday, we came together to celebrate the people, teams and sponsors who helped make this year's Team Goodwin Memory Walk & Jog our biggest yet.

From residents and clients to staff, families, schools, community groups and corporate sponsors, every dollar raised represents hope for Australians impacted by dementia.

Together, didn't just meet the goal, we more than doubled it, raising an incredible $147,041 for Dementia Australia to support vital research, advocacy and support services.

To everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, fundraised, sponsored and cheered us on, thank you. This achievement belongs to you πŸ’œ

Congratulations to all our incredible winners:

This Reconciliation Day, our Goodwin communities are reflecting on the theme: All In. It’s a message that reminds us that reconciliation is a shared journey which calls on all Australians to step forward, listen, and learn every single day.

At Goodwin Village Farrer, our residents and team spent the day doing exactly that by coming together for an incredible Aboriginal art workshop run by the talented team at Burrunju Art Gallery.

From painting beautiful canvases to crafting traditional First Nations bracelets, we love finding hands-on ways to connect with and learn about Indigenous history and culture together πŸ–€πŸ€β€οΈ

Happy 20th Service Anniversary to Celeste! πŸŽ‰βœ¨

From a one-week college work placement in the early 2000's, Celeste knew she loved connecting with people and listening to their stories.

Twenty years later, she is still bringing that exact magic to our community every single day! Throughout her incredible career at Goodwin, Celeste has worn many hats across nearly 10 different roles. From residential care and kitchen assistant to community carer, and now, our Lifestyle Coordinator at Goodwin Village Ainslie, she is the ultimate proof of how you can learn, adapt, and grow within an organisation.

When asked why she loves her current role, she shared that she simply loves the residents' wonderful stories and putting together a vibrant program that brings everyone together. To celebrate her remarkable milestone, residents and staff gathered at Goodwin Village Ainslie for a spectacular party (complete with plenty of Celeste's favourites; cake, music & dancing!).

We asked our residents to describe Celeste in just one word, and they truly said it best:
πŸ’Ž Treasure
β˜€οΈ Cheerful
πŸ‘‹ A friendly face
✨ Effervescent, and
πŸͺ„ Magic

Thank you, Celeste, for two decades of incredible service. We are so lucky to have you in the Goodwin family! πŸ₯‚ Look forward to reading more on this in our upcoming edition of the Goodwin Life Magazine.

Every weekend, 16-year-old Sophia volunteers at Goodwin House, bringing laughter to Saturday bingo and reminding us all of an important truth: "Regardless of age, everyone needs somewhere they belong."

Our volunteers - young and old, students and professionals - create the kind of connection that makes community feel like family. They bring energy, compassion, and that irreplaceable vitality that lights up our halls.

To every volunteer who gives their time to create belonging: thank you. Your impact extends far beyond the hours you give.

A cup of kindness to start the day! β˜•πŸ’›

Our Goodwin communities came together for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, raising vital funds for the Cancer Council Australia.

With freshly baked goodies & incredible generosity, our community proved that a cuppa and a good cause are the perfect pairing.

Thank you to Jannah (a representative of the Cancer Council team who dropped by one of our sites) and to every resident, staff member, and family supporter who do their part in making these events so special.

Full house, great music & happy residents 🎻✨

The Canberra Mandolin Orchestra performed at Goodwin Village Ainslie yesterday, and what a show it was! Thank you to our resident organisers Elizabeth, Carolyn, Graeme & Hilary, who put on these live musical performances right here in the village, showcasing a range of musical styles and talents for everyone to enjoy.

Fun fact: Despite being plucked like a guitar, the mandolin is tuned exactly like a violin!
