🚧 Conservation in Action at Cape Otway Lightstation!
Things are looking a little different at the Cape this week as scaffolding begins to rise around our historic lighthouse!
This marks the start of an important new chapter in the conservation of Australia’s oldest surviving mainland lighthouse, which has stood watch over this rugged coastline since 1848.
Over the coming months, specialist conservation works will help protect and preserve this iconic landmark for future generations.
While the lighthouse will be wrapped in scaffolding and tower access remains closed, the heritage precinct, Lightkeeper’s Café and our history talks remain open for visitors to enjoy.
🎟️ 50% off general admission during this stage of the works.
Follow along as we share a behind-the-scenes look at the works involved in caring for this remarkable piece of maritime history.
