There’s plenty to love about life in Exmouth - and it turns out getting around by bike is high on the list.

According to Australian Bureau of Statistics data, Exmouth has the highest proportion of bike commuters of any suburb or town in Western Australia, with 5.8% of employed residents cycling to work.

For a community surrounded by the spectacular Ningaloo Coast, it’s a fitting result. Choosing to ride helps reduce vehicle emissions, supports healthier and more active lifestyles, and creates opportunities for people to connect with their community and surroundings.

It’s another example of what makes Exmouth such a special place to live, work and visit - a close-knit coastal community embracing a simple, sustainable way to get around.

Well done, Exmouth! 🚴

Congrats Exmouth District High School!!!

We are incredibly proud to share that Exmouth District High School has been named a finalist in TWO categories in the 2026 WA Education Awards.
🏆 Excellence in School Leadership
🏆 Excellence in Teaching and Learning (Secondary)
As one of Western Australia’s most remote K–12 schools, this recognition is a wonderful reflection of what can be achieved when where you live does not determine what you can achieve.
Over recent years, EDHS has continued to grow, strengthen teaching and learning, improve student outcomes, expand pathways and opportunities, and build a connected K–12 school where every student is supported to aim high. The results we are seeing show that our students should not be disadvantaged by their geography.
This recognition belongs to our students, staff, families and community, whose hard work, belief and commitment continue to make EDHS such a special place.
We are proud of what we have achieved in Exmouth and excited to share our story with the judging panels.

Local decisions. Local voices. Local leadership.

Local government has a direct impact on the places where we live, work, invest and raise our families.

That's why having passionate, committed people willing to represent their community matters.

With Carnarvon electing a new Shire President and seven Councillors on 3 December, this is an opportunity for local people to consider stepping forward and helping shape the future of the Shire.

If you're passionate about Carnarvon, interested in its future and ready to contribute to your community, consider finding out what it takes to nominate.

Your experience and perspective could make a difference.
