It’s 🖤🤍

Step inside a Y1 class tram at Glenhuntly Depot, captured in this black and white photograph. From the neat rows of seating to the soft glow of light diffusers and the charm of vintage internal advertising, this snapshot offers a glimpse into everyday travel of the past.

Look closely and you’ll spot ads for Brockhoff’s Biscuits, Senitts Ice Cream, and Saunders & Madison Utility Chairs on Collins Street — plus a window notice promoting Albert Park.

There are just two weeks left to experience the Confined 17 exhibition.

Over the past few weeks, the Glen Eira City Council Gallery has come alive with floor talks, workshops, opening celebrations, National Reconciliation Week events, and more—each moment deepening the conversations and connections surrounding this powerful exhibition.

Confined 17 is a deeply moving exhibition, creating space for First Nations people in Victoria who have experienced incarceration to share their stories, culture, and lived experiences through art. It’s a powerful reflection on the overrepresentation of First Nations Australians in the justice system—and a call to listen, learn, and push for change.

✨ ✨

This week we’re heading back to 1957, when the Centenary of Caulfield saw the Town Hall beautifully lit up in celebration.

From dances and performances to meetings, milestones and everyday moments, Glen Eira Town Hall has long been a place where stories are made — and we know there are plenty more to tell.

Do you have a favourite memory, little-known fact or an unexpected story? We’d love to hear it. 👂

As part of the Glen Eira , comedian and storyteller Damian Callinan is bringing these moments to life in his show Hall Stories — and your story could be part of it.🎤

📅Share your story with Damian in person at Glen Eira Town Hall (Caulfield Cup Room) on Monday 1 June, drop in anytime between 3–5pm or 7–9pm.

Have a cuppa, stay for a chat — no bookings needed.
