✨ Tales of the Towers Officially Launched! ✨

On Monday, 28 September, Acting Mayor Cr Kate Hastie officially launched Tales of the Towers, Charters Towers Regional Council's new online local history and archives website.

Around 25 community members attended the launch, enjoying a morning tea while exploring the new digital archive and discovering the stories, photographs, documents and records that help tell the story of our region. Attendees were impressed by the site and showed a great deal of curiosity and interest as they browsed the collection and learned more about Charters Towers' rich history.

In her address, Cr Hastie highlighted the importance of preserving and sharing local history, recognising the dedication of Council's Library and Community Building teams, and thanking the State Library of Queensland for its support in helping bring the project to life.

Tales of the Towers makes our region's history more accessible than ever, allowing residents, researchers and visitors from around the world to explore the people, places and stories that have shaped our community.
