Daniel Swift is a descendent of the Yorta Yorta and Darumbal people. Daniel is an artist, musician, storyteller, and Link Wentworth resident.

Today we are observing National Sorry Day.

We think about the Stolen Generations, who are the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children forcibly removed from their families between the mid-1800s and 1980s, as well as their families, who continue to carry the burden and legacy of this harmful fact in our national history.

It is 29 years since the Bringing Them Home Report and recommendations were tabled in our Federal Parliament. Link Wentworth supports this year’s theme, From Sorry to Action. We urge policy makers to take strong, tangible steps toward change – including resources to link people with their families and stories and trauma-informed access to aged care and supports for survivors - for national truth-telling, to reconcile the past with the present for all Australians.

It’s back!

Home Sweet is Link Wentworth’s annual charity sleepover. On Friday 7 August we will be sleeping out at Syndey International Regatta Centre, raising funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Funds raised will support three incredible causes that offer vital support to people experiencing homelessness and housing stress:

Birribee Housing
Platform Youth Services
& Link Wentworth’s Scholarships Program

Last year we had more than 100 participants and raised over $300,000 to support people across our communities. Help us make an even greater impact in 2026!

Mosman House shows what’s possible when we rethink vacant spaces.

This week the Hon. Rose Jackson released these findings from the Mosman House project, highlighting the powerful impact of transforming a vacant retirement home into a place of safety and connection for women aged 50+ experiencing homelessness over five years.

Delivered in partnership with 's Community Shelters and Aged Care, the project demonstrates how Meanwhile Use housing can provide immediate, practical relief in a housing crisis. Resident Julie called it “life changing and life saving.”

Its success is a clear call to action for governments, developers and landowners. Let’s unlock empty properties to create more pathways out of homelessness.

🦜 Why NOT to feed wild birds
Love birds? So do we. They bring colour, character and life to our neighbourhoods — but feeding wild birds can do more harm than good.
