For other fire info call 1800 000 699 or go to www.fire.tas.gov.au First established in the 1980s, Claremont Fire Brigade existed as a composite brigade at the Claremont Fire Station, a Hobart Fire Brigade sub station. This included both volunteer and career staff. A short time after, a new career staffed station was built at Glenorchy, at the same time the Moonah Station was closed down. Some career staff from both Claremont and Moonah were allocated to the Glenorchy station, and remainder of the staff were dispersed to other stations within the Hobart Fire Brigade. Today, Claremont Fire Brigade is staffed completely by volunteers. The brigade's area of responsibility includes residential, commercial, industrial and rural properties. Some of these include schools, a technical college, nursing homes, shopping complexes and the famous Cadbury chocolate factory. Claremont Fire Brigade maintains two four-wheel drive firefighting appliances; a light tanker and a heavy tanker.

πŸ”₯ℹ️ Tasmania Fire Service is urging all Tasmanians to take extra care this weekend, with elevated fire dangers forecast across much of the state on Sunday.

⚠️ Recent dry conditions mean vegetation can still ignite and fires may spread quickly if they start.

🀝 Help us keep Tasmania safe by:
➑️ Making sure any fires lit in recent days or weeks, including fire pits and other outdoor fires, are fully extinguished. Soak it. Stir it. Soak it again.
➑️ Checking your bushfire plan and prepare your property.

πŸ“² If you do see any signs of fire re-igniting such as smoke and flames, call Triple Zero (000).

πŸ“Œ Keep up to date with warnings and information on the TasALERT app or at TasALERT.com, or by listening to ABC Local Radio.

πŸ”₯ℹ️ Tasmania Fire Service is asking all Tasmanians to be extra cautious over the coming days, with High Fire Danger forecast for Sunday (20 September) across much of the state including:
πŸ“Œ King Island
πŸ“Œ Furneaux Islands
πŸ“Œ North East
πŸ“Œ East Coast
πŸ“Œ Midlands
πŸ“Œ Upper Derwent Valley
πŸ“Œ South East, and
πŸ“Œ Western districts.

⚠️ Strong winds and dry conditions mean fires can start easily and spread quickly.

While the Fire Permit Period has not yet commenced and there are currently no restrictions in place, we're asking everyone to take a few simple precautions:
βœ… Check any campfires, burn-offs or fire pits lit in recent days or weeks and make sure they are fully extinguished. Remember: soak it, stir it, soak it again.
βœ… Review your bushfire survival plan and make sure you know what you'll do if a fire starts.
βœ… Stay informed through the TasALERT app, TasALERT.com, or ABC Local Radio.
βœ… If you see smoke, flames, or a fire that appears to have reignited, don't assume someone else has reported it. Call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

🀝 We're working hard to keep the community safe, but everyone has a role to play in reducing fire risk. Please take extra caution in the use of fire over the coming days.
