Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome back former student Michael Sheldrick, Co-Founder of Global Citizen, who shared his journey, experiences and wisdom with our students.

Michael spoke about his work tackling extreme poverty and creating a more equitable world, including how the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund is giving back to communities here in Western Australia.

His advice to our students was simple but powerful: “Give it a go.” A reminder to embrace opportunities, back yourself and never be afraid to take the first step.

A huge thank you to Michael for returning to our school and inspiring our students with his story, insights and commitment to making a difference.

📢 New Rule from Term 4: Smart Glasses
From tomorrow, smart glasses will not be allowed at school or at school-run events. This rule applies to everyone.
👓 What are smart glasses?
Smart glasses may have hidden cameras, microphones or computer screens built into them.
🛡️ Why do we have this rule?
We want everyone in our school community to feel safe and comfortable. Smart glasses can take photos or videos without people knowing.
✅ What should you do?
Please do not bring smart glasses to school or school events.
Regular reading glasses, sunglasses and prescription glasses are still allowed.

⛸️❄️ And the celebrations continued…! ❄️⛸️
After a morning of breakfast, reflection and celebrating their time at CCHS, our Class of 2026 headed off for an afternoon of ice-skating!
There was plenty of laughter, fun and a few impressive (and not-so-impressive! 😉) skating moments as our Year 12s made even more memories together on their final day.
It was the perfect way to continue the celebrations — spending time together, having fun and enjoying one another’s company as they marked the end of their CCHS journey. 💙
Congratulations once again, Class of 2026! 🎓 We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next.

🎓✨ Celebrating the Class of 2026! ✨🎓
What a special way to begin our Year 12s’ last day at CCHS!
The day started with a lovely breakfast shared with staff, giving everyone the chance to come together, reflect and celebrate this important milestone.
From there, we gathered for a special assembly. It was a wonderful opportunity for the Class of 2026 to reflect on their time at CCHS, the memories they’ve made, the friendships they’ve formed and all they have achieved along the way.
There were plenty of smiles, and a few tears as we looked back at their journey.
But the celebrations weren’t over yet… ⛸️❄️

🏐 Year 12 vs Staff: The Annual Showdown! 🏐
Today saw the return of our annual Year 12 Students vs Staff sporting match-up, and this year it was all about volleyball!
The staff came ready to play… and, apparently, came ready to win! 😏🙌 After some fantastic rallies, plenty of laughs and a whole lot of school spirit, the staff came out on top 2 sets to nil! 🏆
Both students and staff had a fantastic time, with the players receiving plenty of support (and encouragement… and maybe a little heckling 😉) from the school community.
A huge well done to everyone who got involved and helped make it such a fun event!
And to our Year 11s… you might want to start practising now. 🏐👀
That makes it TWO YEARS IN A ROW for the staff! 🥇🥇

🚑 Last week our Year 10 students had the opportunity to attend the P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth) Program, and what a fantastic experience it was!
Held at Royal Perth Hospital, the program provided students with a powerful, real-world insight into the consequences of risk-taking behaviours and the importance of making informed decisions to keep themselves and others safe.
🏥 A hands-on learning experience
Throughout the day, students:
• Heard from paramedics, doctors, nurses and allied health professionals
• Explored the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Major Trauma Units/Wards
• Participated in interactive activities demonstrating the challenges faced by people recovering from serious injuries
• Heard first-hand accounts from trauma survivors about how a split-second decision changed their lives
The students found the experience highly engaging, informative and hands-on, providing them with a unique opportunity to see the realities of trauma and recovery.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in delivering this important program and giving our students an experience that will hopefully stay with them long after they left the hospital. 💙

🌿 Moorditj Walyan – Strong Lungs 🌿

Today, our Aboriginal students had the opportunity to take part in the Moorditj Walyan (Strong Lungs) program at school, with the presenters visiting us to share their knowledge and yarn with our students.

Moorditj Walyan is a culturally responsive health education program that focuses on the impacts of smoking and va**ng, supporting Aboriginal people to make healthy choices and providing a safe, no-shame space to have open conversations.

Our students learned about:
💨 The effects of smoking and va**ng on health
💬 Having supportive and honest yarns
🧘 Ways to manage stress, cravings and triggers
🌱 Healthy choices and support available to help quit smoking or va**ng

A big thank you to the Moorditj Walyan team for coming to our school, connecting with our students and creating such a positive and culturally safe learning experience.

It was a great opportunity for our students to learn, yarn and strengthen their knowledge around making healthy choices. 💚

🧀✨ Last week, our Year 12 students completed their final practical exam of the year—a fantastic showcase of their skills, teamwork and creativity.
Working together as a class, the students produced an impressive 18 different items, including crackers, breadsticks, preserves, chutneys, poached fruit, fruit leather and more, which were beautifully presented as a charcuterie board.
What made the practical particularly special was the way students supported one another throughout the challenge. Each student took full responsibility for producing different items for the group, while also sharing the costing of each item and helping their classmates navigate the complexities of the cooking process.
It was a wonderful demonstration of collaboration, organisation and practical skills—and a very tasty way to celebrate the hard work of our Year 12s! 👏👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
