🔥 HAZARD REDUCTION – KATANNA RD, WEDDERBURN 🔥

📅 26/09/26

It was a busy day for Cobbitty Rural Fire Service yesterday, with our members out assisting with the hazard reduction burn at Katanna Rd, Wedderburn. 🚒🔥

Covering more than 40 hectares, this hazard reduction is an important part of preparing local communities for the upcoming bush fire season.

By reducing fuel loads across the landscape, hazard reduction work helps reduce the potential intensity and spread of future bush fires and assists firefighters in protecting our communities, properties and environment.

A huge thank you to all the crews and personnel from the Cumberland/Macarthur District and greater Sydney brigades who worked together throughout the day to safely carry out this important operation.

👏 Our Cobbitty RFS members will be back on the ground today to continue assisting with the hazard reduction.

We’re proud of the commitment our volunteers continue to show in helping keep our local community safer and better prepared for bush fires. ❤️

Early this evening, Cobbitty RFS, alongside Catherine Field RFS and Horsley Park RFS, responded to a fire call of a pile burn on a rural property.
