Cobram Fire Brigade would like to announce a change in leadership following the recent election of a new Captain and 1st Lieutenant.

On 26 August 2026, our Captain, Matt Dehne, advised the brigade of his decision to step down from the role of Captain due to increasing work and personal commitments, which prevented him from giving the position the time, commitment and dedication it deserves.

At our September brigade meeting, members elected Allan Warfe as the new Captain of Cobram Fire Brigade.
With Allan moving from his previous position as 1st Lieutenant into the Captain's role, the brigade subsequently elected Nick Kennedy as our new 1st Lieutenant.

Matt took the opportunity to thank all brigade members for their support, encouragement and commitment throughout his three years as Captain. He expressed that leading the Cobram Fire Brigade had been an absolute pleasure and a privilege, and that he was incredibly proud of what the brigade had achieved together during his time in the role.
In return, the brigade sincerely thanked Matt for his leadership, dedication and the countless hours he contributed to ensuring the brigade continued to grow, develop and provide a high standard of service to the Cobram community.
Although stepping down from the leadership role, Matt will continue to remain an active member of the brigade, serving his community as a firefighter.

The Cobram Fire Brigade extends its congratulations to Captain Allan Warfe and 1st Lieutenant Nick Kennedy on their appointments.
We look forward to working alongside them and other members of the BMT as they continue to lead the brigade into the future.

We also thank all our brigade members for their ongoing dedication and commitment to protecting and serving our community.

Congratulations Alan and Nick, and thank you Matt for your leadership and service! 👏🚒

Tonight Cobram CFA and our surrounding brigades were invited to attend a familiarisation tour at Legacy Packing.

It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss the site, see where everything is, see how some of the yummy fruit from our area is packed to be distributed in such a wonderful facility.
it ensures that in the event of an emergency, there are another 30 local responders who know where to go and how to access the systems.

Thankyou for having us.
We enjoy catching up with our neighbouring brigades outside of emergencies with training and community visits. Thanks for coming :)

At our recent brigade meeting, our 2nd Lieutenant Steph had the privilege of presenting Mr Barrie Connor with his 20 Years of Service Medal.
Barrie was unable to attend the official service medal presentation held previously, so it was a great honour for Steph to present this well-deserved award on behalf of the brigade.
Congratulations, Barrie, and thank you for your outstanding 20 years of dedicated service to the Cobram Fire Brigade.
This award recognises the dedication, professionalism and commitment of members who continue to make a positive difference within our brigade and the wider community. Your service is truly appreciated.

❤️ THANK YOU The Grand Central Hotel Cobram ❤️

The members of the Cobram Fire Brigade would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Grand Central Hotel for their incredible generosity and support of our brigade.

Through their Thursday Night Raffles, the Grand Central Hotel has raised an amazing $3,100 in support of our volunteers and the work we do serving the Cobram community.

Contributions such as this make a real and meaningful difference.

Community spirit is at the heart of everything we do, and we are incredibly fortunate to have businesses like the Grand Central Hotel standing beside their local volunteers.

To Shannon and all the staff who run the weekly raffle, and every person who purchased a raffle ticket on a Thursday night – thank you. Your generosity and support are truly appreciated by every member of our brigade.

Thank you

🚒❤️ **Thank a First Responder Day** ❤️🚒

Today is Thank a First Responder Day, and we would like to take a moment to recognise and thank the incredible volunteers of the Cobram Fire Brigade.

Our members give their time freely to protect and support our community, often leaving their families, workplaces, and personal commitments at a moment's notice to respond when help is needed. Whether it's fighting fires, attending road accidents, assisting with medical emergencies, supporting community events, or helping our neighbours during times of need, our volunteers are always ready to answer the call.

Being a volunteer first responder requires dedication, commitment, training, and sacrifice. It is not always easy, but our members continue to serve with professionalism, compassion, and pride.

Thank you to every member of the Cobram Fire Brigade for the outstanding work you do. Your commitment makes a real difference, and our community is safer because of you.

If you see a first responder today, take a moment to say thank you. A few simple words can mean a lot.
