🌧️ NSW SES Coffs Harbour | COMMUNITY UPDATE 🌳

With the recent wet weather leaving the ground heavily saturated, our volunteers have been busy clearing fallen and uprooted trees across the community.

⚠️ A timely reminder to check the trees around your property!

Saturated ground can weaken tree stability, increasing the risk of trees falling, even without strong winds.

🌳 Take the time to inspect your trees for signs of instability, leaning or exposed roots. Contact your local qualified arborist for professional advice.

A little prevention now could save significant damage later!

🧡 Stay safe from your local NSW SES Coffs Harbour team.

We’ve had a bit of rain across the area, with some locations receiving up to 60 mm in the past 24 hours. That might mean some of our low-lying roads in the upper catchments may have had water across them overnight.
If there’s water over the road, please don’t take the chance. Don’t drive, ride or walk through floodwater. Turn around and find another way.
Slow down if driving, put your headlights on, leave a bit more space and drive to the conditions.
Look after yourselves and each other. 🧡
If it’s flooded, forget it.

🌧️ WEATHER UPDATE | COMMUNITY REMINDER ⛈️

🌦️ Wet Weather Expected Throughout the Week

With rain forecast for the remainder of this week and potentially extending into next week, we encourage residents to take a few simple precautions to prepare for changing weather conditions.

🏡 PREPARE YOUR PROPERTY

* 🍂 Keep gutters, downpipes and drains clear of leaves and debris to allow water to flow freely.
* 🌳 Be mindful of trees and overhanging branches. Wet ground combined with periods of strong winds can increase the risk of trees becoming unstable or uprooted.
* 💨 Secure loose outdoor items that may be affected by gusty winds.
* 🚗 Take extra care when travelling during periods of heavy rainfall.

🟠 SANDBAG FACILITY OPEN

Our self-service sandbag facility will remain available throughout the week for residents requiring sandbags as a precaution.

✅ Sand and bags are available for residents to fill as required.

📞 NEED STORM ASSISTANCE?

🟠 NSW SES – 132 500
For emergency assistance with storms, flooding and fallen trees.

🚨 TRIPLE ZERO (000)

💙 STAY SAFE. STAY PREPARED.

A little preparation now can make a significant difference during severe weather.
