Today, Aqua Room had an amazing opportunity to take part in a virtual reality demonstration hosted by Beyond Horizon

Students embarked on an incredible journey through our solar system, exploring, manipulating and learning about the different planets in an immersive, hands-on experience. 🪐

Next, it was time to climb aboard a rocket and blast off into space! 🚀 The students watched as Earth became smaller and smaller beneath them before landing at the International Space Station (ISS).

Once aboard, they explored the station and discovered what daily life is like for astronauts living in space. From sleeping and eating to exercising and even checking out the space toilet, there was so much to discover! 👨‍🚀👩‍🚀

One of the biggest highlights was the chance to venture outside the space station and look down at the incredible view of Earth below! 🌍 What an unforgettable way to experience the wonders of space!

To finish off their cosmic adventure, the students joined in a fun team game, bringing their exciting experience to a close.

What an incredible day of exploration, discovery and learning! Who knows, we might have a few future astronauts in Aqua Room! 🌟🚀

Employment opportunities for 2027!

11/10/2026

At Lake Colac School, we take student safety very seriously. A part of how we do this is through the explicit teaching of expected behaviours of students and responding appropriately when a concern is noticed or raised. We all need to help each other to keep our students safe.

Our school has created a couple of flyers to help everyone tackle online safety concerns and concerns about bullying. Everyone has a part to play! Please discuss these with your children, so that they know what is expected and where to go if they need help online, at school, or in the community.

At our school, we regularly teach these expectations and are confident that most of our students understand what safe and unsafe behaviours are, and how they should behave at school, online and in the community. At times, if our students are bullying each other at school, online, or in the community, we may need follow DE's suspension procedures to develop a plan with you to help stop these behaviours happening again.

Printed versions of these flyers are also available from the school.

Help us to keep your and all of the kids at Lake Colac School safe.

Thank you for your support!

🎶 A Fantastic Performance from the Apollo Bay P-12 College Band! 🎶

On Monday, our school was treated to a wonderful performance by the Apollo Bay College Band! 🎺🥁🎸

The band entertained us with a fantastic selection of well-known songs, including Wipe Out and YMCA. Our students loved the music so much that many couldn’t resist getting up and having a dance! 💃🕺

It was a wonderful opportunity for the band to perform for a live audience, while also allowing our students to experience the joy of live music and support another local school.

Our students were incredibly engaged and thoroughly enjoyed the performance — they’re already asking when the band can come back! 😊

A huge thank you to the Apollo Bay College Band for travelling to our school for the performance. We loved having you and look forward to welcoming you back again in the future! 🌟🎶
