GRANDPARENTS LITURGY

Today, we welcomed grandparents from our community to join our students for a special Grandparents Liturgy. It was fantastic to see the hall full for the occasion and to have so many stay afterwards for morning tea.

We are extremely grateful for the important role our students’ grandparents play in helping them grow and learn in a loving and nurturing environment. From school pick-ups and drop-offs to volunteering, attending events and supporting our students and staff, grandparents add so much to our students’ lives and the St Brigid’s community.

NEW MUSHROOM TABLE

A big thank you to Mr Graf, who has been working on a side project all year to replace the old mushroom table in the Early Childhood Playgroud.

A much-loved piece of play equipment, the old table had cracked and weathered from student use and age. Upon arriving at St Brigid's, Mr Graf took on this side project and has been secretly working away in his top shed.

Thanks to a generous donation from Premier Coal of an old large wooden cable drum, between all of his work keeping St Brigid's School neat and tidy, Mr Graf has been sanding, adding a new surface, coating, painting and sealing to make a fantastic new mushroom table for our Kindy and Pre Primary students to enjoy!

Thank you to Mr Graf for his hard work in creating this fantastic upgrade to our school playground!

It was exciting for students to return this term to see the refurbishment of our senior basketball courts completed. The new blue surface and line-marking look fantastic and complete the upgrades following the installation of new posts, rings and backboards, as well as groundwork completed earlier in the year.

Students have already loved getting out and enjoying the new courts this week!

A big thank you to our P&F, who coordinated and fundraised for the project, particularly past committee members Mel Pullan, Tara Rabjones, Ange Laverty, Tenielle Cherry and Jasmin Marley. Through the committee's hard work in organising events, along with the generous support of the St Brigid's community, we have been able to provide these fantastic facilities for our students.

Thank you also to Griffin Coal for their very generous grant of $10,000 towards the project. This funding allowed us to complete the upgrades and bring the timeline forward considerably. We greatly appreciate their support, along with the support of all the local businesses who have contributed to our P&F fundraising efforts.

It is fantastic to see what can be achieved through the hard work and generosity of our school community!

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT APPRECIATION WEEK

We don’t want to be boastful but our Educational Assistants are simply the BEST!

Working with students and staff in all areas of the school, a St Brigid’s EA’s day involves a 1000 jobs and no 2 days look the same. Their smiles, care and professionalism shine through and impact our entire community.
