A new Statewide Community Participation Plan (CPP) prepared by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure will commence across NSW.

This plan replaces over 100 existing plans used across the state including the Coolamon Community Participation Plan.

Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on the proposal to re-establish Alcohol Free Zones and Alcohol Prohibited Areas in Coolamon and Ganmain.

The proposal will be placed on public exhibition from Thursday 22 October to Friday 20 November 2026. During this period, Council is inviting feedback on the proposed locations and times.

Each school holidays, Council and the Coolamon Shire Library deliver a program designed to engage, support and connect young people across the Shire. During the recent Spring school holidays, more than 50 young people joined in a variety of activities.

Community feedback will play an important role in developing the Plan, helping Council understand what is working well, where barriers exist and what areas should be prioritised into the future.
