Good afternoon Coramba and surrounds, unfortunately over the last few days our station has been broken into and equipment stolen, this is quite disappointing and hinders our operational readiness and ability to best support your community.

As of 6pm, Monday 21 September, there are 71 fires burning across the state, with 32 not yet contained. There are currently over 700 firefighters and incident management specialists working to contain these fires.

With mostly moderate fire danger forecast across NSW over coming days, these easing conditions will provide an opportunity for firefighters to bring a number of these fires under control.

We ask those in the vicinity of the fires to continue monitoring the conditions and to stay up-to-date with the latest information through the Hazards Near Me app and the website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fnm

A really important part for many in our valley is considering stock or pets/hobby farm animals in your plans.
If a bush fire started today, could you safely protect or move your livestock?
The best time to make a plan is before an emergency. Planning ahead can reduce stress and help
protect your animals.
When preparing your plan, consider:
• Do you have enough feed, water and supplies for 3–7 days or longer?
• Is there a safe place on your property with multiple access routes?
• Are your livestock identifiable?
• Can you relocate them quickly, and do you have safe transport and backup options?
• Are your water supplies, shelters and infrastructure protected?
• Do you have basic medical supplies and rescue equipment?
• Can a neighbour or friend help if you’re away?
During a bush fire, the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and Local
Land Services support rural landholders by assisting with preparedness, coordinating animal rescue,
evacuation and emergency care, assessing affected animals, and supporting recovery.
Plan ahead today so you’re ready when it matters most. https://www.nsw.gov.au/departments-andagencies/local-land-services https://www.dpird.nsw.gov.au/dpi/biosecurity/emergency-management
