⚠️ Battery Safety⚠️
Last week we received our new Community display signs about Battery safety, which are currently on public display out the front of the fire station.
🔥Our battery safety signs are a timely reminder of how quickly a battery can spark a dangerous fire, with our friends at the Somerville Fire Brigade recently attending a large shed fire caused by batteries. (Have a look on Somerville Fire Brigades FB page to read about this fire)
🔋 Getting Rid of Old Batteries?
Batteries come in many types, shapes and sizes, and should never be thrown out in your regular household bins.
🔋 We have a large collection of different types of batteries, which have been given to the brigade from local residents, to be placed in the brigades battery collection bins for correct disposal, which we do on a regular basis.
✅️Always Charge batteries safely and prevent dangerous fires, by using the original charger that came with the device and always charge on a hard, non-combustible surface.
