The Drum Theatre was transformed into an art studio at our latest Cultural Sketch. 🎨

Audience members swapped theatre seats for sketchbooks, drawing live as Alberto moved through the space in a rare mix of performance, conversation and creative practice.

Part life drawing session, part artist talk, part social night out, Cultural Sketch continues to transform unexpected spaces across Greater Dandenong into places to slow down, observe and create.

Yesterday marked the beginning of National Reconciliation Week.

The City of Greater Dandenong began the week with the launch of its new Reconciliation Action Plan, including a welcome to country from Uncle Mark Brown, recognising the importance of continued reflection, action and commitment to reconciliation.

We also acknowledge the many First Nations peoples, artists and creatives who contribute so much to our community and cultural life.

This year’s theme, “All In”, has been beautifully captured through the work of artist Kobi Santy and photographer Carla Gottgens.

The final artwork will be displayed outside Council Chambers, serving as both a reminder of the importance of reconciliation and a celebration of the extraordinary artistic talent within our community.

One work. Two different views. Two different lights. You can see views here. But better yet, visit Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre and experience them in person.

Primary Succession by internationally renowned artist duo Wona Bae and Charlie Lawler opens in two weeks. Through sculptural forms, immersive environments and speculative ecologies, the exhibition imagines how life adapts, regenerates and remembers in a world shaped by climate crisis and ecological change.

📅 Exhibition opening: Saturday 6 June, 6pm
