Đội Vietnamese Multicultural Dragons tự hào là nơi quy tụ những thành viên đến từ nhiều nền văn hóa khác nhau, cùng chung một mái chèo, một tinh thần đoàn kết và tình yêu dành cho cộng đồng.

Together with his wife, Minh Ha Tran, UQ alum Dr Alan van Tran (Doctor of Medicine ’83) has supported more than 100 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander UQ students.

Dr Tran created the Dr Alan van Tran and Minh Ha Tran Indigenous Health Education Scholarship in 2013. This choice was shaped by his own experiences of inequality as a military surgeon and medical educator in Sài Gòn (now Ho Chi Minh City), treating some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Vietnamese refugee in Australia, Dr Tran benefited significantly from the support of UQ and Professor Ralph Doherty in retraining overseas doctors. This reinforced his belief in education as a powerful enabler, grounded in his family’s resilience and determination to build a better life.

“The endowment fund is designed to last forever, and many future generations of Indigenous students will benefit,” Dr Tran said.

This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, All In, speaks to the shared responsibility of reconciliation. Dr Tran’s commitment to giving back to Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander students as they pursue a degree at UQ is a powerful reminder that reconciliation is an ongoing process of working together – Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians – towards a more inclusive future.

On the evening of 28 May 2026, the Queensland Police Service Graduation Ceremony for Intake 8 of 2026 was held at the Oxley Police Academy in a proud and dignified atmosphere.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the graduating recruits as they embark on their careers in public service, committed to protecting the community, upholding the law, and contributing to the safety and wellbeing of all Queenslanders.
As part of this special occasion, the Vietnamese Community in Australia – Queensland Chapter was honoured to present Acting Commissioner Brett Pointing with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of the Queensland Police Service's longstanding support, partnership, and dedication to the Vietnamese community over the past 51 years.
The enduring relationship between the Queensland Police Service and Queensland’s multicultural communities continues to strengthen trust, foster understanding, and help build a safer, more inclusive, and united society for all.
Congratulations to all graduates of Intake 8 – 2026. May your careers be guided by integrity, compassion, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to serving the community.

Hôm nay cộng đồng đến thăm Corinda state High School để trao Kỷ Yếu và cùng trao đổi về việc xây dựng, gắn kết giữa nhà trường và cộng đồng người Việt tai QLD.
Hiện nay có hơn 200 em học sinh gốc Việt đang theo học tại trường. Buổi gặp gỡ đã mở ra nhiều ý tưởng ý nghĩa về các chương trình văn hoá, sinh hoạt cộng đồng, hoạt động dành cho giới trẻ và những cơ hội để các em học sinh thêm gắn bó với cộng đồng Việt Nam.
Xin chân thành cảm ơn Ban Giám Hiệu và quý thầy cô đã đón tiếp nồng hậu và luôn hỗ trợ tinh thần đa văn hoá, đoàn kết và hội nhập trong trường học. Trong thời gian tới, nhà trường và cộng đồng sẽ có thêm nhiều chương trình ý nghĩa cùng nhau đồng hành vì thế hệ trẻ tương lai.

Today, the Vietnamese Community in Australia – Queensland Chapter Inc. was proud to attend the opening of the Student Pencil Art Exhibition at the Inala Art Gallery.
We would like to sincerely acknowledge and thank Ms Margie Nightingale MP, for her continued support of multicultural arts, education, and community initiatives. Your presence and encouragement mean so much to our young artists and families.
A heartfelt thank you also to the wonderful team at Inala Art Gallery for creating such a welcoming and inspiring space where creativity, culture, and community can come together.
Special congratulations to all the children and students who participated in this exhibition. Every drawing displayed today reflected imagination, patience, talent, and heart. From the beautiful pencil sketches of animals, landscapes, and daily life, to the fine details and creativity shown in each artwork — you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. Your hard work and courage to share your art with the community is truly inspiring.
A big Congratulations to our three artists - vouchers were presented by President Kieu Oanh Do, Ms Margie Nightingale MP and Teacher/Artist mr Duong Quang Thien.

Nước Úc đã ghi nhận và tôn vinh sự phục vụ của quý bác.Và cộng đồng người Việt tị nạn chúng ta cũng mãi mãi khắc ghi công ơn đó.
Cộng đồng sẽ luôn đứng bên cạnh, bảo vệ và kính trọng tất cả các bác Cựu Quân Nhân VNCH.
Không ai có quyền xúc phạm, chế giễu hay coi thường những người đã hy sinh cho tự do.
Sự hy sinh của quý bác sẽ không bao giờ bị lãng quên.
