Thank you very much to S.Jones from USQ Toowoomba for a wonderful review. We appreciate your positive feedback.
‘Malcolm is an amazingly knowledgeable and competent microscope technician. His wealth of experience meant that he was able to service and repair over 25 microscopes and light sources, from a variety of brands, both old and new. He even got some old, abandoned microscopes working well again. We were so impressed that we will always request his help with servicing and repairs.’

Recent trip up to North Queensland to service equipment at different practices including medical equipment on board the YWAM Ship. This Medical ship services remote areas of the southern region of PNG.
With an on board dentistry and optical clinic, day procedure unit and laboratory the entire YWAM voluntary medical team do amazing work in extremely remote areas under difficult conditions. A fantastic organisation.

Optical Repairs was requested to install and train medical staff at the Guam Memorial Hospital regarding their recent purchase of a Moller-Wedel Neuro Surgical Microscope.
Malcolm flew to the island this week to complete the task.
Great people at the hospital who all give a fantastic service to the community, especially the Neuro Surgical unit headed by Dr Weingarten and his team.
Thanks to all.

Why discard a good Refractor Head when Optical Repairs can get it looking like "new" again? Full rebuild with cerakote treatment.

Just completed a full restoration repair and re build on a very early No.32 Mk1 OS 466A H.B.M.Co -Houghton & Butcher Manufacturing Co. Circ 1940.
New reticle and intermediate lens set fitted. New saddle strap and friction stop assembly manufactured to original specification.
Very nice collectable vintage scope.

A nice little compact Japanese Mizar Telescope with a few extras. This early 90s’ telescope had been subject to a rather harsh environment on the coast,so was found to be badly corroded. After some TLC on the body, lenses and prisms it was brought back to become a good working optical scope again.

Wild (Leica) M690 Microscope Overhaul and objective lens repair. The light when viewed through the microscope had an uncharacteristic hue on the peripheral of the field of view. Often mistaken for a misaligned filament in the globe it was in fact the objective lens as seen from the pic. We managed to separate the two elements, re-bond and UV cure . Now a perfect illuminated field of view at all light intensities and an optimal red reflex for routine cataract procedures.

Repair to Microscope Binocular Tube :–
The Surgeon was complaining of headaches when looking through his Operating Microscope.
On inspection it was seen a repair had been attempted. Optical Repairs was asked if anything could be done to rectify the issue.
We removed all the prisms and lenses, cleaned all components then re mounted and collimated the optics correctly as shown in the ‘before’ and “after’ pics.
Surgeon very pleased with the successful outcome!
