What does mental health mean to you?

We asked around.
Belonging and peace. Connection. Calmness. Inner freedom. Balance.

At Melaleuca, we know it looks different for everyone. But our message is the same: look after yourself, and reach out if you need support. We're here.

See me. Hear me. Belong.

Tell us yours in one word 👇

Yesterday morning, we had the pleasure of bringing together our existing volunteers and community members interested in joining our team for a special morning tea.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our staff, learn more about the work happening across Melaleuca, and explore the many ways volunteers make a difference in our community.

To our current volunteers, thank you for the time, skills, and dedication you so generously contribute. Your support is greatly valued and plays an important role in the work we do.

To those who joined us to explore volunteering opportunities, it was a pleasure meeting you! We are excited to see some new faces and look forward to welcoming you to our team.

Interested in volunteering with us?

Whether you are looking to share your skills, gain experience, or give back to your community, we would love to hear from you!

Someone out there is waiting to hear from you

Life gets busy. Days turn into weeks. And sometimes the people we care about most are the ones we forget to check in on.

This Mental Health Week, we want to encourage our community to do one small but powerful thing. Reach out to someone you haven't spoken to in a while.

It does not have to be a long conversation. A simple message that says I was thinking of you can be enough to change someone's entire day.

Who are you reaching out to today?

12/10/2026

It took me 20 seconds.

"I've noticed that you haven't been around lately and I'm just checking in to see if everything is okay."

You don't need the right words. Just ask. Offer to help. Let them know you're there.

You never know what impact your kindness could have on someone.

Showing up. Being present. Noticing.

See me. Hear me. Belong.

How are you, really?

"You're not invisible here. You're seen, you're heard, you belong." Prajwal, Melaleuca Australia

When you're far from home, it's easy to feel unseen. This World Mental Health Day, talk to someone you trust. A friend, a family member, your GP, a community leader.

And if you want to talk to us, we're here: (08) 8985 3311

Seeking support is never a sign of weakness. It’s an important step toward wellbeing, growth, and community. 💚

Rebuilding a life, starting fresh, or just navigating the day-to-day in the Top End can take a lot out of you.

If you’ve been holding everything together by yourself lately, this is your gentle reminder that it’s okay to pause and reach out. You don't have to carry it all on your own.

We’re in this together. 🌿

Connected. Online. Alone.

It's possible to be all three at once.

This Mental Health Week, two of our team sat down to talk about the small things that help.

"Sometimes we can rush around and we can not notice, but it's good to check in with people, see how they're doing."

Move. Eat well. Rest. Put the phone down before bed. Lift your head up and notice what's around you.

And if you're struggling, reach out.
"A lot of people think asking for support or talking to a friend is a weakness, but actually it's a strength."

See me. Hear me. Belong.

What's one small thing that helps you feel good? Tell us in the comments 👇
