A MESSAGE FROM YOUR LOCAL FIREYS
We know there are questions and frustrations around the current suspension of fire permits.
But there is an important distinction between a permit suspension, a Local Fire Ban and a State of Fire Emergency β these are different measures, with different restrictions.
Please take the time to understand what each term means and check the current official information before lighting any fire.

And remember β we don't make these decisions.
We are your local volunteer Rural Fire Brigade, sharing information about restrictions and declarations made through the Queensland fire-management system.
We understand restrictions can be frustrating, particularly for people managing large rural properties. Questions are welcome. Abuse, harassment and personal attacks towards volunteers are not.
π₯ If you light a fire and it gets away from you, it doesn't just become your problem.
It can put the entire community, homes, animals and the firefighters responding to it at risk.
CHECK FIRST. KNOW THE RULES. PROTECT YOUR COMMUNITY.
We don't make the rules. We help communicate them.

ββββββWhen predicted conditions and hot, dry and windy weather forecasts show that fires may be difficult to control and may harm the community, the Queensland Fire Department might declare a local fire ban.
