Our members kicked off the morning with a competitive game of Spikeball as part of our Fit Firies program, keeping active, building teamwork, and maintaining the fitness required for emergency operations.

Following the morning workout, crews moved on to conduct a stack burn as part of ongoing hazard reduction activities within the local area. These burns play an important role in reducing fuel loads, minimising fire risk, and helping protect our community ahead of future fire seasons.

A great day of training, teamwork, and proactive bushfire mitigation by our dedicated volunteers.💪🏼

🚨Members from Delaneys Creek Rural Fire Brigade had the opportunity to visit Firecom Brisbane, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at the critical coordination that supports emergency response across Queensland.

Firecom plays a vital role in dispatching crews, managing incidents, and ensuring clear communication between appliances and crews on the ground. It was a great experience for our members to see firsthand how incidents are monitored and coordinated from the communications centre.

Understanding how Firecom operates helps strengthen our response capability and highlights the importance of clear, concise radio communications during incidents.

A big thank you to the Firecom team for taking the time to show us around and share their knowledge — your work behind the scenes is essential to keeping our crews and communities safe.

👏 We appreciate everything you do!
