Join us for our annual Teddy Bears' Picnic as we celebrate Children's Week!

This year, we're taking the picnic to the beautiful Devonport Community Garden for a magical morning of fun, adventure and connection.

Explore the gardens, discover the fairy garden, enjoy stories on the grass, and share a special morning tea with your favourite teddy bear by your side.

This year, we are asking families planning to attend to pre-book their spot so we can ensure we have enough morning tea for everyone. Payment is not required to reserve your place. Simply follow the booking link to register yourself and your child/children.

Normal Playhouse entry fees apply. Payment can be made by cash or EFTPOS on the day.

Hello to all our amazing Playhouse families!🌸

As many of you may be aware, the future of The Devonport Playhouse has been the subject of ongoing discussions for some time, with a number of factors contributing to the difficult decision we now need to make.

It is with great sadness that we announce that The Devonport Playhouse will be closing its doors for the final time at the end of 2026.

The Playhouse has been a much-loved and vital part of the Devonport community for generations. For many families, it has been a place to make friends, create memories, watch little ones grow and feel a sense of connection and belonging. We know this news will be incredibly sad for many of our Playhouse families, past and present.

While we are saddened to say goodbye to the Playhouse, we are hopeful about the future. We hope to eventually bring playgroup sessions to The Devonport Community House, continuing to provide families with a safe, welcoming, fun and interactive space for little ones to play, connect and grow.

For now, we want to make the most of our final months together and celebrate everything that has made the Playhouse so special.

Our final day will be our annual Playhouse Christmas Party on Wednesday 2nd December. We will begin taking bookings for this much-loved event closer to December.

Thank you to every family who has been part of the Playhouse over the years. Your laughter, friendships, stories, and memories are what have made this place so special.
We look forward to sharing these final months with you and celebrating the wonderful legacy of The Devonport Playhouse together.

After our Pirate Party on Wednesday, the Playhouse will be closed on Thursday 17th September.

Then, on Thursday 1 October, the Playhouse will be closed for our usual drop-in play session. Instead, we’re hosting a FREE Mums Matter Wellbeing Session! 💕🌸

Playgroup Tasmania Inc will be joining us with fun activities to keep the little ones entertained, while Rachel from The Nesting Space Tas will guide you through a gentle, postpartum-friendly yoga session. 🧘‍♀️

A morning of connection, wellbeing, gentle movement and a little time just for you. 💕

Over the last few weeks at the Playhouse we have had some good fun with little experiments, 'what happens if' and getting curious about things. Last week was book week and we read books and fed our Very Hungry Caterpillar.
This week is Father's Day crafts where we are decorating picture frames, and in two weeks we have Talk Like a Pirate Day!
